@Ikeaparty Asking a difficult question here. In what way: Is the jacket too tight? You’re not only stretching the denim, but the lining’s as well…
Is 18oz denim stretchable? Then yes…
-
@goosehd just curious if itll loosen up at all over time, not thinking of intentionally stretching anything, it fits basically primo right now.
That said it could be slightly looser, XXL definitely too big, mostly just due to posture where my shoulders hunch forward it puts some tightness on the back across the shoulder so wondering if thatll loosen at all which based on your answer it will over time.
Suspect that the lining would stretch more than the denim!
edit: I havent ever owned anything of the vintage demo so mostly just dont have the experience with the fabric like I do with others
-
@Ikeaparty It should stretch with time, but you’re working against a couple of layers and if it’s too small the results won’t be great. Just about right and there will be some give with that time.
-
Noted thanks @goosehd sitting at just about right so all good there!
XXL on its way back to Gosport so anyone looking set your notifications up!

Hey all just got my jacket in and the Large is pretty perfect! The only thing that’s a little off is sleeves being a tad long. What does everyone think of the fit? Curious if a little long on the sleeves is the idea with this one in particular
-
I think it looks pretty spot on, I personally don't think the sleeves are too long, and once the jacket breaks in and settles in around the elbow area I think that will sort itself out a bit !
Enjoy the jacket !

In my experience it softens, considerably, but doesn't really stretch.

Sleeves are long on mine, and the shoulder is narrow, which makes them less long, I guess. I flip my cuffs.

Rolled the dice on an xl, think I should have sized up… better luck next time I guess… I’m 6’1, 44.5” chest and 19.5” shoulder. I thought it would be fine, but it digs into my armpit when I lift my arms past 45* forward… very nice jacket though…
-
I read once the all thread, and I remember people saying that the armpit would soften with time, but I can not tell you more.
From the pictures measurements looks good, although the length is maybe on the short side, but taste and all....
Depends if you want to layer also. -
@Browe818 I feel like mine loosened up pretty significantly in the arms. Did you get your UHF size or did you size down?
-
I sized down, It’s my first jacket and the uhf I have purchased was a xxxl but I thought it had a little bag so I was just gonna shrink it in a hot wash. My us size was between large and xl, and I thought all my proportions would fit in the xl, but I’d probably have been better off with the xxl 🥲
-
@Browe818 I think you could size up.
-
@Browe818 I usually wear a medium uhf and got a medium in this. I was debating on getting the small but went to @guiltyparty to try it on and the medium was definitely the way to go for me. I can still fit an uhf under it but it’s nice and snug buttoned. Hope you get it figured out and get the size you like best.
