I don't consider myself an off-roader nor an overlander, but I love getting off-pavement and camping in far-flung places. I've had my G55 for almost 10 years now and have been all over the western US camping and road tripping, most recently in Death Valley and Plumas National Forest.

My car for the past 10k miles and 2 Sets of rear tires…. 25 dark horse with engine upgrades 800hp….. actually she makes for an excellent daily.

What year is your G55? I recently sold my '96 Land Cruiser and picked up an '03 G55. As you likely know the provenance of these cars is quite incredible, and they're really solid off road. I am still working to get over the attention (positive and negative) they attract, and I'm considering making a bumper sticker that says 'not a complete prick' and 'vanishing riches'.

If you're in the Portland, OR area hit me up -- I'm learning to wrench on this beast and I have a few projects lined up.

@Inorganic damn dude it’s hard not too….. what’s amazing is how easy it is to control when the tires are a little lit up . Car makes a total novice like me feel like Schumacher or something.

@Inorganic Hell yeah, quite the silver beauty you've got there!

Mine is an '05, and the attention thing is an adjustment. I've been cut off in traffic and had people flip me off, which is silly given at the end of the day it's a 20-year-old truck!

I do make trips up to the PNW here and there to camp so I'll be sure to reach out if I'm up there. Reach out if you're ever in the Bay Area!
