Yesterday evening I decided to visit my dad on the country side. He has a cottage in a small village 45 minutes outside of Berlin.

We are slowly getting ready for breakfast…

On my arrival in Berlin on Monday I had to show up the customs office to claim my latest shipment from Japan…



The whole procedure was rather quick (less than 2 hrs) but a bit expensive…
(normally, I have things send to HK, but this time things got messed up)

my "Kiez" - the district of Berlin where I grew up and lived for the past 40 years (minus the year in foreign countries, but I kept my appartment in Berlin)

my house, my appartment - inside is chaos, my bathroom is under re-construction, maybe I post some pictures soon

He is archeologist/ethnologist and used to teach at LAI (Latin-American Institute) in Berlin. Most of the time he is digging in the dirt somewhere in Peru…think Indiana Jones in short.

they will/would - but my Dad is kind of inpatient plus the 12 weeks until delivery…
I would have to fly him over to Canada.
Boat shoes are "too fancy" for him - I guess I will go with a local bespoke shoe maker one of these day - for now he is wearing the the custom/bespoke shoes he got himself during his last Peru trip - cheap and solid enough, but hardly worth a pic, IMO.
