        Ugh….small…medium…small…medium….

I want to pick up this shirt and the green in the IHSH-38 and then take a breather until the Type III Cotton duck drops. At that point, I don't think I'll need another shirt or pair of jeans for the rest of my life.

Did you have the 27 shirt? If so what size and how did it fit?

the shirt is one wash but you can get it to shrink down with a really hot soak with some agitation.
i got an xxl which was a bit to big & was able to shrink it down a considerable amount.

i'm weird though & always prefer too big as opposed to too small.

No. This would be my first denim shirt with the IH brand.

I might just chance a medium, given that the P2P is no more than 21" and the shoulders no more than 17".

                      @nameness:

size medium, hottest wash i could do with medium agitation for about an hour.  dried on medium heat for about 30 mins until damp and then hung up.  lost a bit of color but nothing too bad.  just a note that "pre" measurements were already after one hot soak in the tub.

                      pre
                      shoulder to shoulder - 17.5"
pit to pit - 21.75" total width laid flat
pit to pit - 20.5" seam to seam
                      pit to cuff - 22"
                      shoulder to cuff - 25.75"
                      length - 29.5"

                      post
                      shoulder to shoulder - 17"
pit to pit - 21.25" total width laid flat
pit to pit - 20" seam to seam
                      pit to cuff - 21.5"
                      shoulder to cuff - 24.5"
                      length - 28.25"

                      fits much better now.

Yes, I saw that post. Thank you, nameness. I'm not a fan of having to soak anything prior to wearing; I'd much rather wear it until it falls apart right from the get-go.

Sounds like the 33 is perfect for you then
Just use presoak measurements to guide your fit
And if you ever need to wash it
Just know it might shrink a little

I think I'll go with a medium, any way. You can't stretch sleeves…but if does turn out to be slightly bigger than I'd like, I can always resort to a soak.

                            Thanks for everything, guys.

This is in a bid to maintain the happy truce where she doesn't question how much I spend on IH gear 🙂

pretty sure you can snip them off & they will not damage the shirt at all, no need to knot or anything so labor intensive

good call on picking your battles 😎

had the same thing with the gf on my IHSH-35 😃

solved the problem by grabbing the chainstitch run-off and just bend it to the inner of the shirt and sewed it on  with one or two stitches…no big thing, no damage to the run-off and the shirt and done in a few seconds...
Cuz maybe there will come times where you can rock the shirt with the run-off showing and no one cares about it... 😛
