IHJ-147-BRN - 9oz Canvas Type III Jacket - Brown
-
@DeeDee85 I figured but didn't want to doom scroll in futility.
Back on topic: the 147 looks great! I love short (hand-pocketed) jackets with long sleeves...
-
@Chaintitch will you be picking this one up?
-
It's been on my S/S Want list, but I may be stuck between sizes on this one, on account of the wider body... The cut on the indigo/black 14oz Type III is indeed the gold standard.
-
Haraki knew what he was doing with this one ... Fit is amazing. XL for reference.
-
What are your impressions of the fabric/weight?
-
@labrat fit looks great. How are you liking it so far?
-
Thank you, sir…I believe this is a seriously underrated piece. The fabric with the red stitching is absolutely killer—I can’t wait to see how it ages and develops character. It should fade pretty quickly, right? Just a heads-up, the color is slightly darker in person than in photos. I’d definitely recommend it if you don’t mind the slightly shorter body length.
-
Those are washed and the product photos of both colors show pretty significant initial fading, so I'd bet these are fast faders. It doesn't feel too light? I don't think I've owned a cotton jacket that weighs less than 12oz.
-
@Chaintitch Wore the black one today - yes its light but was great in the sun today.
-
@Chaintitch Exactly, It does have a lightweight feel, which is what I was aiming for with the spring-summer season. To give you an idea, it’s similar to something like a waxed Filson cloth—cold to the touch and super high-quality, man.
-
I'm a great admirer of most tonal, classic IH gear, but heavily lean towards the light- and mid-weight stuff, as one can get so much more year-round wear out of it. I may need to pick this one up after all...

@Chaintitch You won’t be disappointed—enjoy
