IHSH-413-IND - 5oz Selvedge Dobby Cloth Western Shirt - Indigo
-
Master Dobby has arrived. This lightweight waffle-y fabric is definitely interesting. Feels nice and inky. Wearing it over a white top straight out of the bag probably isn’t the smartest idea, but it’s the only situation I’ll happily take a gamble.
-
@RoxRocks86 looks great.
What are the details on the shorts? -
@RoxRocks86 looks great! I have a white bronson tee that is my go-to indigo transfer garment. Slowly turning it into an indigo tee. In the armpits
-
@Denimminer surprisingly not a pair of IH’s that have been taken against their will to be chopped. Levi’s has committed all the torture on some 501’s
@CosmoSix5 haha you should do an evo post on that white tee! I’ve opted to forgo any nice what tops with this particular shirt, but having a dedicated white tee for all the indigo fun is a brilliant idea. Might have to jump on that bandwagon!
-
So, we all know that I have this inability to keep my IH gear away from the chop shop.
Removed 2” from the bottom to shorten the length.
Still long, didn’t really look like shortening it made a big difference. Happy with it nonetheless.
Decided to give it a hot wash and dryer spin today to mitigate any indigo transfer and soften it up to get it to drape better.
It shrank quite a bit! The wash also gave it a nice soft plushie feel to it. To those who sized for a nice trim fit, wash with caution. Shoulders, arms, and body slimmed and tightened up. The fit now is somewhat similar to a Ladies Medium which I usually jump on if available so not disappointed with how it turned out.

@RoxRocks86 Another epic modification as it looks good and I think perfect after the wash. Also thanks for the warning as I haven't washed mine yet.
-
@RoxRocks86 Mine arrived today and fits snugly and nearly perfect. But I'd planned on washing this more frequently as no undershirt was planned. Yours shrank a lot? Cold or hot? Thanks for posting this

@CosmoSix5 RoxRocks86 said "Decided to give it a hot wash and dryer spin today ..." Good info ... I'm going to need to baby this one as my large fits well but I don't want it to shrink one bit.
-
Missed the hot wash bit! Thanks
-
Just got home from a conference to my 413 waiting for me, fits perfect, material feels really unique, hope to see other colors in the future!
-
413 between a 380 and a 358
The others are very interesting and great fabrics in their own right but the 413 is really amazing…
-
Great info about the shrinkage @RoxRocks86. Looks like a great fit on you.
-
Has anyone seen any marbling from the spin cycle? I need to wash mine soon.
-
@northsouthdenimguy thanks for sharing. I’ve got the 358x2 (plan is to over dye my second pair either with red or black. I’d love to see more side-by-sides pics of 358 vs 413. Can you see (more or less air) through the waffle fabric? I would think the 358 would be more breathable, is this your experience? thx

I posted this earlier the wrong thread.
Finally able to put this through a few paces. Hiking with the fam in 74° totally comfortable and looking pret-ty nice.(Italian accent)
-
thinking about picking this up as more a late spring/summer shirt. Wondering if this would fit the bill or if it's a little to warm. Measurements in shoulder and p2p look bigger than usual, did everyone go with their typical IH size?
-
@bluemantra I sized down to a 2xl. It's really a pleasure to wear. I hiked in mine yesterday with temps hitting middle-high 70's and was never anything but comfortable. Id say for me this shirt is golden till about 75 and then 80+ I'd probably move to another option. Only because I have other options. Great breathable fabric.
-
@bluemantra I went with my normal XL and am quite happy with the fit!
-
@bluemantra I went with my normal XL. Fits great. This is my go to warm weather shirt right now. I wear it for anything cooler than the hot hot days that demand t-shirt only.
