i always fail to do this, how did you guys do it ? is it because i soaked the jeans for too long ?

It all depends on the denim of course but I've found that hanging by the belt loops on a level bar indoors over night after soaking helps, although my 9634z' will do it after being put in the washer then hung outside on the line.
