      It will not work.

Rope dyeing indigo causes the dye to oxidise on the surface of the denim. It is the abrasion of the fabric surface that removes the dye and thus causes fading. Dipping in water will abrade nothing.

      Sorry

In my experience IH jeans shed much less indigo than other jeans - I wear white t shirts most days and don’t get any crocking on them.

My ib pair shed much more, but it cleans off fairly easily. Unless you are wearing a light suede/roughout or white pair of shoes it isn’t really an issue. I don’t wear white trainers with jeans for that reason and I embrace the crocking on my roughout Wescos.

What shoes other than white trainers are you getting colour transfer on?

@Gavin666 this „denim bleeding“ is really not so cool, but I think we have to live with it. Washing your jeans doesn‘t solve the problem. You find a lot of tips and tricks in the internet depending on the material of the shoes. With my buckskin shoes it was successful to use an eraser for small spots. But when I wear the jeans again, it starts bleeding again. So I decided to leave it as it is. There is a store in Berlin which can clean your „denim shoes“, but the problem always remains the same. You will find denim again on your shoes when you wear them after the washing procedure.

I mean, it’s traditional to at least pull your jeans down before dropping a deuce.

Seriously though, the same thing happens to my home office chair, I just clean it every so often.

I’ve tried to keep these boots “clean” the first couple of weeks with an eraser. Them I gave up. Not much to do I guess.

                      74 or more…

@NickD my roughout boots are covered and I have no issue but just got a pair of 777ii for work and was thinking about an olive pair of suede shoes I wear in the summer which won’t look good not be able to clean easily. Was seeing if the rrr was a way to minimise the transfer.
