@Jett129 i know, at least with records pressed in the last 25 years, there are typically 5 identical (theoretically) test pressings made and sent out to the artist/artists rep to sign off on before the actual run of the record is pressed.
Whenever I've had them given to me it's usually just listening to make sure nothing went haywire during the mastering/cutting process.
I can say that i have owned multiple official releases where somebody did not bother to listen to the test press thoroughly.....

@Jett129 Really interesting story and it sounds like your producer really did you guys wrong during the original recording of that album.
It was awesome to hear how highly those guys spoke about you on the original sound of the band and how you were missed in the recording of this one.
