Just got an 8 oz. jar of Obenauf's leather polish… Wondering: should I apply to my Oakstreet Bootmakers or would the Venetian creme they sell in their online shop be better (or worse?)... Will it make the leather darker like it did on my Grenson boots?.. Cause that I do not want happening...

Seul-I have not tried Obenauf's on any osb's yet, but in my experience it does tend to darken any leather I have applied it to. I think sticking to the Venetian creme is a good choice here.  However, I am excited to know the result though if you do try Obenauf's as I'm pretty sure I'm holding a lifetime supply already.

@ jimmy, the chat facility does have some merit but it does make the discussions fleeting and somewhat impermanent. It is also more analogous with a verbal conversation - the loudest use the most bandwidth, it can be more exclusionary than normal threads.

That's our thoughts too.  We clean up the off topic bullshit from time to time, but we think that the public spontanteity that this forum encourages is what makes it a nice place to be.

I always know when Paula is browsing the Forum because all I can here from her is chuckling as she reads some of the more arcane stuff, I'd hate for some of that type of stuff to disappear.

same for me, that is definitely part of the fun here and only adds to the character imo and if you missed the moment online, you still are able to get some entertainment out of it on a later point…
