Dawn, North coast of Morocco. Those with a keen sense of hearing, may catch what I am called by the guides here. They misheard "Giles", it is a badge of honour which will wear with pride.....

Haven't been here for quite a while, but I love fishing and it's always a treat to scroll through this thread. So thanks guys! I'm fishing almost daily here in Malmö, Sweden. Weather has been great and the perch season started late August. Pictures are from this weekend and basically just outside my home. Yes, I moved to be even closer to the thing I love the most.. There's even some IH featured!

Matt and I did not get to share a boat last week (otherwise there would be far more footage of fish being caught 🙂 ), but this will give you an idea of what it is like....

Dunno why it wont play here, but you can click and view on YT......

It's blowing an absolute hoolie out there today, but I think I will go down to where I caught yesterday, so see what gives....I think the wind should be behind me at that particular mark...

@Giles what kinda gear are you using for sea bass, and what are some of your favourite baits? Wish we had them where I live, but I'll settle for some good talk about tackle 🙂 Cool fish, pretty sure it's similar to the coastal fishing for sea trout we do here in Sweden and Denmark!

My go-to rod in the creeks around here is:

                      https://yamaga-blanks.com/early-plus-92xml-combined/?lang=en

I use this for open beach fishing:

                      https://yamaga-blanks.com/ballistick-102mh-tznano/?lang=en

                      I pair the 92 with a 3000 size reel and the 102 with a 4000.

PE2 mainline and 18lb Fluoro leader.

                      Baits:

Soft plastics for weedy snaggy waters, my fave being :

                      https://www.highstreettackle.co.uk/megabass-spindle-worm-5-inch-2359-p.asp

But needless to say, I have bzillions in different colours/lengths. I'll use different weight belly weighted hooks depending on how deep the water is and where I want to fish in the water column.

Top water, I use loads, but this is always with me:

                      https://www.mrfishjersey.com/products/xorus-patchinko-85-metal-ayu?variant=40649785933992&currency=GBP&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwu-63BhC9ARIsAMMTLXQII5XFuPSUfzaWsrvBSIvZb-eepqYq9UEqooa1l1oIDO_W1hxtvC0aAlm3EALw_wcB

Mid-water hards, I have loads depending on where in the column I want to fish. But I use a variety of these and other brands:

                      https://www.megabass.co.jp/site/saltwater/sw_lure/

And I'm slowly getting into creature baits, like these:

Good stuff Giles! Always fun when you get to use different gear and methods. Not so good for the inner tackle junkie though.. I'm a big fan of Megabass as well, I use their soft plastics and jerkbaits all the time.

I've been on a chatterbait bite for roughly a month, but the water is getting colder pretty fast now and the grass is dying off.

Just sorting out some of my fly fishing gear. Found a few boxes of nymphs that a good friend tied decades ago. The only reason I got them was because he thought they were not good enough for his box 🙂

Not a fisherman myself so amazed to see these handcrafted beauties. How long does it take an expert like to your friendo to make one of these? He must be 700 years old if he tied all those together, and they are only his rejects.

@Giles wow! Those are quite lovely! A well tied dry fly is a work of art. Hell, I have framed paintings of them on the wall.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...
