One of the best. Saw a lovely faded olive one on rivet and hide. Got me thinking?

Hi there, can I ask how to remove scorch marks from a shirt? The marks came from a dirty iron. I’ve tried brushing with lemon as a trick, but the marks are still there. Not sure if this can help: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=remove+scorch+marks . Do you guys think this will be an issue for the overall look?

@ku0pa0 I think as you wear it and wash it as you go, it will reduce in how black it appears. I would try dabbing with a warm damp cloth but not too aggressively otherwise you may end up fading one little spot on the pocket!

The devil is in the detail..

@AdamJ Thanks for your advice! I think I'll keep wearing it as is. Once it's time to wash it, I'll try your suggestions. I really love this shirt!

I always wondered what this GRY Military Serge would look like with the white snaps. I like the brass snaps on most IH heavy shirts as an alternative, but for some reason the black just don't resonate with me these days. Would love to see more snap options with this beloved brand. It's such a great detail that can transform any shirt into something new.

Trying to decide between this shirt and the Raised Whipcord Western in Olive for my first IH product. Does anyone have both that could provide a recommendation? Thanks in advance!

@btschauw I think that question depends on what you are looking for. They are both great shirts with different textures, fading, and feel. Can you give us a little more info on what you like?

@goosehd I will probably wear either shirt as an over shirt / shirt jacket unbuttoned with a t shirt or thermal underneath! I really like the versatility of the grey color but am also intrigued by the texture of the Raised Whipcord. I have heard the serge fabric is very stiff - does it eventually soften over time like a stiff pair of denim or does it stay pretty stiff?

@btschauw the Serge definitely softens up a little, but the Brushed Whipcord will be softer and more pliable on day 1 than the Serge will be after years of wear.

They're both very unique and distinct pieces, and will fulfill different needs in your wardrobe!

The Whipcord will drape better, which in my opinion is better suited to something a little oversized, and I personally think the stiff Serge looks better with a tighter fit.

It's all subjective though, I doubt you'll regret either!

(Don't own the Whipcord myself, but after seeing one in person at the party I instantly regretted not picking one up when I had the chance...)

@T4920 thanks so much! This is great information! I’ll have to take a closer look at my wardrobe and see what makes more sense & will get the most wear. A UHF is always an option too for my first IH item, but I am still waiting for a color/pattern that I love.

@btschauw my first was the 18oz Indigo CPO, then the Hickory Western. It spiraled quickly out of control from there... 😂

Up until this weekend, the Serge Western was my favourite of them all, but the new Sashiko Workshirt has taken the crown now!

@T4920 that Sashiko does look fantastic. I already have the Sashiko Cruiser from RGT or I would consider it.

Just received this one. I think it may have been the very last one left in the outlet. Firstly; very impressed with the level of customer service. It's daunting buying things like this here in Australia with little option to try them out first. And I just have to be very careful about when I splurge on higher priced clothes.

I was tossing up between this and the double cloth but I just couldn't get behind the sawtooth pockets on that one. I was a little nervous having seen the youtube reviews with a 2 year update saying it was still very stiff/bit uncomfortable.

Well....I fucking love this shirt! I think I got lucky that it fits me just perfectly. Sleeves are long enough to go to my wrists when riding my bike to work and back but not too long to get in the way when doing manual tasks. Length in the body is great - as a shortie I don't like shirts to be too long. Sits well on the shoulders and nicely fitted at the chest without being tight on the pits.
To my surprise it is damn comfortable from the start and will only improve I'm sure as it moulds to my body.

Very happy that this thing can and will be a workhorse piece to wear and not be worried about getting it scuffed or dirty. No it's not cosy like a heavy flannell but it's great as a wind barrier and in place of a denim jacket if you're planning to wear one over a T-shirt only. Though it has made me very much want to get a UHF now!
