@weftyarn really interesting how the feel is so different for each of these. I think the third has the strongest suggested narrative (which may or may not reflect the actual circumstances) and I like the strong diagonal lines.

@weftyarn The email that I got alerting me to your post had a picture of 3 people on an elevated walkway. Had that picture still been here it would’ve been my favorite.

@weftyarn definitely the second one for the stronger minimalist composition. I'd prefer this one even more if done in a similar b&w treatment to the other two photos personally.

@Jett129 I totally get what you mean! The individual pictures have such a different vibe in B&W vs color. It was a sunny and warm evening with a light breeze. The sun was low and shining right at him as you can see with the shadow. That warmth disappears in B&W making it look a lot more drastic / sad. In fact it was quite a peaceful and happy mood, everyone was just doing their thing and enjoying the days very last bits of the sun.

„thought provoking“ is a compliment in this case, thank you!

Here’s the pic i first included with the post but then swapped to make it a triplet of the same topic / scene.

@ARNC The third is also my favorite! I love to become more geometrically constructive with my shots. Faaaaar away from Siegfrid Hansen level, but I’m happy you mention the diagonal lines 🙂

@pechelman thanks mate! you mean something like this?

              Yeah!
I might continue playing with it a bit, maybe cropping the lower edge, crushing the black shadow a bit like koudelka, or even rotating it slightly. But it's great as is; Really dig this capture.

@weftyarn Just great,so much to like about this one. I recently saw a quote about photography and it had to do with seeing things that other people can’t. When I,initially, read it I thought about your photography.

I also like the abstraction from the head in the foreground matching the other circular forms on the tram.

@Jett129 That’s a great compliment, thank you. I certainly start to see a little differently though. It’s going from „reacting to situations“ to „seeing situations evolve“ and having the shutter already half pressed before the shot happens.

@pechelman Thanks mate. The color makes the shot on this one I think. I was quite unhappy about the guy walking into my picture at first because there was just no way to recreate it. But everyone I’ve shown the shot actually thinks it looks better because of the head in the foreground and I’m starting to feel the same way.

@goosehd awesome! when exactly are you going? 🙂

Visiting „Praia da Ursa“ is something I would definitely recommend. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches i’ve ever been to. And while it is not a complete hidden gem anymore you can really enjoy some privacy there and escape the tourism. Even when water temps are too low to swim, go there for the views.
Also, go grab some Pasteis de Nata at Mantegaria (multiple locations throughout Lisbon), they’re the best hands down.

@weftyarn Don't want yo to get a swelled head but, as usual, they're all really great. The ticket widow picture absolutely floored me. Seeing the hands on top was one of those, looking at photography, holy shit moments. To circle back,if your head gets a little swelled,it would certainly be understandable. After I posted this I went back and looked at it again and realized that the hands are from another picture. Decided not to edit that part out of my original post. Still a great shot.
