For anyone interested in how tough the Shoes Like Pottery sneakers are, I bought my first pair for £25 off eBay 2 years ago and they were well worn to say the least.. I liked them so much I bought two new pairs and.. I haven’t had chance to wear them yet. The well worn £25 pair still looks exactly the same as when I bought them and they have been worn pretty much constantly for two years.

The new ones I purchased directly from the goodweaver.jp website for £52 while Rivet & Hide sell them for £145. They also stock the full range of indigo Doek sneakers for £68 which are £145 on the Drakes website.

Great tip @DeeDee85 I’ve come close to pulling the trigger on a pair of SLP a few times, but always worry about the grip. The sole looks like it’d be slippery in the rain. Is this the case?

@jerkules I was worried about that myself and I don’t know what sorcery SLP use but somehow my well worn pair are still super grippy. I’ll add a couple of pics of their current condition to this post.

The one time I have slipped in them I was carrying a huge bunch of helium filled Peppa Pig balloons on my way into a kids party and stupidly decided to take a small shortcut out of a car park down a steep grass slope (which was way muddier than I anticipated) and skidded down a good ten foot of it without decking it.. I just wish someone had happened to have being filming it 😂8D1266DB-460F-4143-968F-941F626756ED.jpeg 231C0AE5-912B-43FF-9895-4DC5B37C4CFA.jpeg C411969A-EE84-4F07-AFA3-83A0B97CCB80.jpeg

@jerkules - also find them very grippy myself. They are incredibly well built. The only reason i’m not wearing them as often as novestas is that after a long walk(and i walk a lot) the ball pf my right foot starts to ache. Weird thing, dont have it with other boots or sneakers. But definitely recommended shoes quality wise

I’d have loved to see that @DeeDee85 . To be fair though it sounds more the fault of the Peppa balloons (or maybe even the birthday child) than the shoes.

Interesting @prpx I guess I’ll have to give em a try to see for myself!

@jerkules I work as a store manager in food retail what means running around a lot, 15-20k steps a day. My whole store has tiles which are often a bit slippery but I never had an issue with the SLP. The only thing bothers me a little bit is the thin sole, makes my feet sore after a whole day of wearing them

Trusty £25 second hand Shoes Like Pottery still holding up incredibly well. I’ve worn these pretty much constantly since I bought them around 18 months ago. Liked them so much I immediately bought a new pair, I’m just not sure when this pair will ever be beaten up enough to get the new ones out 🤔

@DeeDee85 love my shoes like pottery. I still wear vans slipons, too, but they are pretty shitty quality and I probably won’t buy another pair once I’ve shredded them

@Tago-Mago They are brilliant aren’t they? I’ve ordered a a pair directly from the goodweaver.jp website and they shipped internationally incredibly fast at about half the price Rivet & Hide sell them for. They also have Doek slip ons available if you are interested in a well made Japanese equivalent for when your Vans are trashed 😃

@DeeDee85 bought some slp a while ago and really like them so far. Still prefer the IH sneakers but the slp are great to have them in my rotation. But the best white minimalistic shoe I had was the catchball picnic

@FlavourFade I’ve just looked up the Catchball Picnic, they look very sturdy! The only thing that’s stopped me buying the IH sneakers when I’ve had the opportunity in the past is the price. They look fantastic and I get they are the great IH fabrics but they are manufactured by the same company, in the same factory as SLP/Moonstar/Doek.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to buy some IH sneaks but when the black SLP are £58 on the goodweaver site, £211 is a tough pill to swallow for me. (I still want some though) 😂

@DeeDee85 how long did shipping take? While this may be different for Germany, did you have any issues regarding duties on import?
