Yeah - edited my post a bit late but that's what I meant…

I'll get a cheaper one, Doug... But then I don't think you really need to service a butterfly knife... It's not as if I'm gonna carry it... Just a plaything for indoors...

Discovered this nice item a few years ago - funnily, they are manufactured just around the corner and are rather cheap. I really love that maritime inlet.

Strange enough that those knives have no real relation to anything seabound - the next shore is roughly 400 km away.  Anyway: Perfect tools for posers like me!

I went to the BLADE show this past weekend and picked up some real beauties! Fred Perrin, Bob Terzoula, production Emerson, Brad Zinker, also picked up some William Henry. Great show!!!!

Nah, not with the current exchange rates but it does showcase the Perrin money clip well. I'll try to get some better pics tomorrow. The Terzoula is pretty damn slick.

So, the first two to review are the William Henry EDC and the Perrin necker. The Perrin is what I believe to be 1095 carbon steel hand forged by Fred himself. It is Wickedly sharp and because of the edge geometry, is a real slicer. At $50 with a lyres sheath, it was my deal of the show. The William Henry is an AG Russell collab and features a hand rubbed D2 blade and anodized aluminum slabs with mammoth ivory inserts. It has a nice thin profile and like the Perrin is a really great performer. D2 is one of my favorite steels and if treated right, is hard to beat. The button lock and action are smooth as silk. I would say this knife is easily comparable to the CRK Mnandi without reservation.

Anyone with some advice on how to properly sharpen a Sebenza, btw?.. I was thinking of shipping mine to Chris to have the clip replaced and have it sharpened... I have a small sharpening block but it doesn't do very much...

You're probably best off with a V jig system, like a Lansky or a Spyderco Sharpmaker

I used a Sharpmaker for years before I learned to freehand sharpen on a belt sander

I went for the lansky and am pretty satisfied with it.  It's not (or I am not) particularly quick, but I'm really happy with the edges I have been able to get using it.
