Many thanks for the quick replies and suggestions--all very helpful. I always have consternation when 'trusting the measurements' means sizing down because literally every top I own is an XL, save for a large N1 deck jacket(absolutely the right size for that one).

@Alex How does that size fit you? Loose, or more trim/svelte? Thank you!

Hi guys
Just about to pull the trigger here. Are they running a little big?
I usually take an xl with shoulders about 18 3/4 and pit to pit 22.5
I’m 6 feet about 14 stone
Measurements seem to point me towards a large?

@Bm48 It depends what you are comparing it to. I wear an XL in most IH shirts and an XL in this worked well. As mentioned above though, in UHFs for example XL is getting to the point I may need to size up, XL in this shirt fit great

I have an uhf in xl that fits snug but good.
My denim and chambrays in xl are looser, but I feel this shirt will look better snug
Also the measurements are throwing me off a bit

@Bm48 If you want it snug and the measurements work, then maybe you can go to an L. I have quite a big chest and that is often the deciding factor on whether I can size down

@Bm48 my chest is a touch bigger around 43, but the only way to really be sure on size is to compare the measurements using the same measurement method we use on a well fitting shirt. If you are between sizes or need slightly bigger/smaller in one dimension (within a sensible tolerance), add a note to your order and the guys can locate the best match from what’s available

@Alex Ok, thank you. I ended up bucking my ownership trend and sizing down b/c of the dims; hopefully that was the right decision!

I’m similar (~18.75” shoulder, ~23” p2p, 6’1” / 190lbs) and went with the large when I’m normally XL. Shoulders seem too big on the XL for me. Will see how it is when I get it tomorrow.

Report from the 3rd horseman, lol: Man... I am smack dab right in the middle of you two. The measurements are in alignment with other shirts I have that fit wonderfully, but there is something about the fabric that needs to be taken into account, I think. It is VERY robust... and I don't mean it is super thick or heavyweight(although ya'll must have pretty mild summer heat if you think this is what a lightweight summer shirt fabric is, lol), but rather it has absolutely zero stretch or give to it.

So anyway... kinda in that position which I'm sure many of you can relate, that while it is tight across the shoulders if I bend over and tie my shoes or similar range of motion, the fit is more or less perfect right now. That said, the other side of the coin is if this SOB shrinks after I wash it, I may not be able to pull it off. Currently marinating in that dilemma, and weighing my chances of being able to wash and avoid any shrinkage.
