This oversized IH-888S-21 is my most worn IH jeans. They feel like sweatpants. Washed many times at 60 degrees and twice at 95 degrees Celsius (in effort to shrink them as much as possible).

Just out of curiosity, do they shrink substantially at 65 or 95 °C?

In my experience, any denim shrinkage will be temporary and eventually stretch back out again with wear.

I failed to do any measurement during all of this, but what we can go with is the cuff mark from before the 95 degree wash and after. There seem to be approx. 1 cm difference.

@goosehd we are talking about 95 degrees Celsius here. The comments on the page are for 40 degrees wash. Lets see what will come from the new measurement.

OK, the measurement done the IH way. The inseam when tracing the edge is 88 cm. When I just let it lay freely its 87cm (as per photo). I also found the tag (here the inseam is in inch) - 35,5 in

@goosehd nah mate, a perfect comment if it was under nominal circumstances, but in this scenario we go super hot.

@RobeOfTheMagi yea, so this is it. I have no additional data to draw the conclusions from. I guess this indicates that there was some shrinkage after 60 degree Celsius wash, but I only noticed it after 95 degrees, and its after that wash that I changed the cuff length. at the end it went from approx. 90,17 cm to 88 cm.

A little bit late to the 888 party - but better late than never…

For the past 7 years I’m wearing 777‘s in various versions (S-21, XHS, SBG, S-142bb, S-142). Perfect fit for me because of skinny legs. But when it comes to hiking, riding the bike, playing around with the kids in the backyard it needs a more relaxed cut with more room in the top block for easy movement… So I decided to give the 888 a try. Here we go: day 1!

Just to add, after the final (and the most precise measurement method) I got ~2cm shrinkage in inseam length after all those washes.

The new addition to my 21oz collection. I see why this is considered “the shit”. It’s fucking spun gold. These have another dimension the others don’t, set off by that fantastic natural weft color. There pretty much my new favorite after only two wears. These are a bit more breathable than my sbg and ib but are still a bit warm in 90f. They mould to the body the same as my ib, so will get more creasy than my SBG, which is the softest of my 3. Can’t wait till these hit fuzzy stage.

what are you suggest for sizing? true size or downsizing?

@MQR id go by measurements. I went a size or two down from my 777s. But I think that would depend on your body type. Easier to get away with if you have a trim waist. For 888, waist is the tightest spot for me, so I measure around my underwear waist band, then I subtract half inch to account for stretch. That way they end up perfect. Of course I have preference for other measurements too but those are aesthetic.
When in doubt, email the crew. They’re super helpful and pretty patient with particulars.
