LP‘s with an OBI are something special, aren’t they @68degreesorless ?
-
@Aetas Yes! It’s grown on me a lot. Now I see the beauty aesthetically. I think it could also be a bit of Pavlov situation given the quality of the sound within. This one is no exception.

Since we don’t have an equipment thread, is the best place to rant? My project debut carbon evo turntable had a screw on the tonearm lift come loose on Sunday. Big design flaw, the whole tonearm assembly has to be removed in order to retighten the screw. I’ve had it less than 9 months. There are only 2 repair shops in Columbus and it’s $85 min bench fee and 4-6 week turnaround time. To. Tighten. A. Screw.
So after I dropped it off at repair shop, I bit the bullet and ordered the upgrade I’ve been eyeing, a mofi ultradeck w/ ultratracker cart. Luckily got an open box special. I’m too deep into this hobby right now to sit on the sidelines for 4-6 weeks. Plus now that I know what a pain these TTs are to get serviced, it’ll be good having a backup on hand. Feeling a bit guilty for the large unplanned spend, angry/disappointed at the project design flaw (otherwise it’s been a great table with really good sound for a noob like me) and supply/demand imbalance in the repair market, and excited for the upgrade all at once.

Ironically I was just looking at this model for inside the house but may re-consider now

@GraemeE It's still a good table for the money. Especially when you upgrade the stylus to Moonstone. I'd probably still buy it again if I was shopping in that price range. But I did find a few other online reviews / forum posts where people mention having the same issue I did. So not a total fluke. Biggest learning for me is save all the original packaging. If I had that, would have been easier to pursue warranty / refund kind of thing.

@Tago-Mago Suspiria is the one I was first introduced to so that would be a good start

From there it kind of depends on your appetite for some of the "cheesier" aspects of prog and synth music -

Efterklang- Piramida (2012)
„Efterklang´s 4th album and their first as a trio. The album is inspired by an expedition to the ghost town of Pyramiden on the island of Spitsbergen just 1000km from the North Pole…
The album features guest appearances by Nils Frahm (piano), Peter Broderick (piano, violin), Earl Harvin (drums) and the 70-piece Danish girls choir; Sønderjydsk Pigekor.
Alongside the album, Efterklang developed The Piramida Concert series that saw the band perform the album in its entirety with classical orchestras in venues like Sydney Opera House, The Metropolitan...
Album artwork by Hvass&Hannibal.“This enclosed booklet is beautiful:
There are many documentaries about Pyramiden.
See the following as an example…
