IH-777-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo/Black

Making my way through this thread and now I am on the edge of buying a pair. Still available in Germany in my size, but I am already wearing a 777 21oz OD on a daily basis and now I'm wondering if they look too much the same? Don't want to have two black pairs of jeans at the same time... From the pictures the XHSib looks more like a very deep indigo instead of black. What do you think? Wait for a restock of the indigo or is the IB an okay addition to the OD?

@FlavourFade they are very different, yes the i/b is much more indigo, smooth and shiny than the OD, I own both fabrics in multiple cuts and honestly they are not even remotely similar

@FlavourFade if i may step in.. the OD one is basically a regular indigo which has been overdyed with black sulphur dye which will fade with wear and washing overtime which will lead to more muted but still amazing fades. A IB denim hasn’t been overdyed but the weft and weave has been dyed in 2 colors. Indigo and black which will lead to super sharp fades especially if you keep then away from the washing machine. You’ll find some fade results here on the forum and choose the one to your liking. Have a good one!

@Heavy_blue yes I totally agree, also because in my opinion (along with the 19oz Lefty i and Od) it is the fabric that evolves most rapidly

I think ib and lefty 19oz are my 2 favs fabric! But i think i’ll aim SBG for my next faders

@Heavy_blue I like it very much too, I have two pairs of SBG, a 555 which unfortunately doesn't work on me , it's a 666 which is becoming one of my favourites, I love the evolutions of black denim, not to mention the comfort from the 1st use

@Luijim78 i’m just on the fence between those 2 cuts i like the 555 rise wise but sometimes the topblock can be a but loose on me so i was thinking about the 666

Think I'm gonna pull the trigger. The problem with stuff like japanese selvedge denim is that often the runs are very limited which I understand but it is very hard to be patient and not just buy everything that looks cool because of being afraid you may not get a pair of jeans or a shirt later...

And being crazy impatient like me makes this an issue it's an addiction

There she is. Fit is a little on the lose side but I prefer it that way and think it's gonna mold to my body and look a little more fitted then. What do you think? Also not sure if I give it a soak before breaking in and should I get it hemmed?

777 looks good very slim or a bit baggy if you ask me! They look definitely relaxed but still slim, cool! If you’re going to hemm them then i would definitely soak/wash them first since they’ll shrink a bit! I always soak my xhs hot to get the most shrinkage out.

@Heavy_blue thanks my man! I think I am going to soak them and let them hangdry after but wear them like without hemming until I get bored of the big cuff I really like the look already and I do not love to wait a couple days until its dry but I want to give them a good start

@FlavourFade almost sure you already know this but put them inside out before soaking! Let them drip dry untill they are fully dry before you’ll flip them again

@Heavy_blue Any special reason for letting them dry before flipping back again? I usually wash inside out then flip back to air dry.
