Fishing was amazing thank you. Got back and straight into a week's Coastal Skipper course. Now have friends from Spain and Germany staying with us.....

I did not post many pics of the fishing because I thought it may be boring, but here are a few....

The boats are pretty heavy. This is a 942g fish that my friend Matt hooked (but was played in the main, by the captain). Took an hour to get in and they may have been towed around a bit. @Ian72 was on the boat, were you?

That's awesome. I'm sure it was a hell of a workout too! Good thing y'all were keeping hydrated.

Are these Bluefin Tuna? I know very little about fish, but I've heard these are extremely coveted by Japanese Sushi chefs.

What would a specimen of this size sell for?

They are BFT. Every evening a government auctioneer comes to the village and does an online auction for the fish caught that day. Most European canneries buy the fish.....

New to the forum but cool to see there’s a fishing thread, fishing or more specifically fly fishing has been a big part of my life since I was a kid. Have had some good fish this season! These two were up there as my favourites.

@Mizmazzle hi mate, I’m based in the UK. Fish in NW England and Scotland a lot and the big char was from Iceland which is only 2.5hrs plane journey away, sadly due to the airline misplacing our bags I didn’t have my weigh net but I’d guess somewhere in the 5-6lbs range for that fish. I had an awesome looking male last year that had me well into backing 3-4 times.

The goldens you get are a bucket list fish for me though, absolutely wild colours.. one day!

@Sean94 I’d love to come out your way to go fishing some day. No better feeling than a nice fish taking a fly.

Those goldens we caught were a dream come true. Can’t wait to take another crack at them next July.

We have one of my fishing mates over from France for the weekend. Popped down to one of my local haunts this AM, Using soft plastics for Bass. A few years ago, I would never have dreamt of using lures for Bass later than October, but my mates and I have learnt a lot recently, so it was a nice mild morning, no wind and a rising tide, so we felt it was worth a cast or 2. It worked.....
