@goosehd i'm assume you're in Ontario. if so try and locate a bottle of smith and cross Jamaican rum, it's back in our stores but not every location. if you don't already have it that is.

i grabbed 2 bottles when i found it because in the past it has come in and then disappeared for 2 years. but i also got super into tiki cocktails and it's probably the best for when you need something with that Jamaican funk

If I could have only one overproof Jamaican rum on the bar it would be smith and cross.

@pechelman Splash of soda was a welcome tip that is working perfectly!! Cuts the sweetness a tad and makes it extremely refreshing, especially with todays hotter temps (85-87f.)

finally added a bottle of eagle rare 10 year Kentucky straight bourbon to the collection today

@natehate That’s pretty much impossible to find in my neck of the woods,at any price. Curious as to what you paid for it. I consider Eagle Rare to be one of the best bourbon values out there. Recently got a 10yr single barrel/store pick of Elijah Craig for $35. Felt like I was stealing.

@Jett129 $65 Canadian, but I had to drive an hour each way to get it. It sold out in most stores in minutes.
Waiting for the Colonel E.H. Taylor to drop now, probably 2 weeks. That was the gap between the Blanton's and the Eagle Rare.

@natehate Where I live stuff like that never even makes it onto the shelves as the liquor store owners give priority to their best customers and friends. Once a year one of the stores near me sells all the Buffalo Trace Antique stuff for list price,and people camp out over night to get it. You’re only allowed 1 bottle,and they cut the line off once all the bottles have been accounted for. Last time I bought Pappy 20, I paid $75 and thought that was expensive in 2006.

@Jett129 yeah everything gets a 1 bottle per customer limit here too,
but because it's ontario and the government runs it all there is no good customers first. it's more just camping out on the website and spotting the releases.
i'm signed up for notifications for when all the buffalo trace / sazarac products come in. i got the email about the eagle rare 24 hours after i had already bought my bottle. so i don't put much faith in that system.

ps. i'd cut a mother fucker for a bottle of pappy for 75 bucks haha
