Got a new pair of Redwings last week, was advised to size down! Still fucking killing my feet AAAAHHHHH!!!!  Hope they stretch soon!

How long have you worn it for. You should take it back if it hurts that much. Sure have it firm and let it mould to your feet but not so tight it hurts

Is the toe box too small? Or is it the shaft of the boot?

The shaft will soften up a lot after a couple weeks

In my experience, the toe box does not

It's the toe box, went with the same size as I did in my Iron Rangers which was one size down from my TTS but these 8173' seem much tighter! Can't return them now as I've worn them for a couple of days.
Oh well live and learn.
