I did some whilst on the road but did most of my hard hiking in the North Face ones I have. I forget the model. They have a vibram sole and a rubber toe guard which is nice. The new version comes in a GorTex model as well. I like them a lot. I run in NB also. they really do make nice working shoes, not just street shoes.

Same and they really haven’t picked up too much indigo even when I wear em with the UHR’s.

Thanks for the encouragement @Heavy_blue … unfortunately they literally sold out before I could complete the purchase.

Half relieved in a weird way - I was guilty of doing the same stupid thing I always do:
-> have some spare cash for some trainers
-> spend ages looking for “the perfect pair”
-> slowly increase the spending window in pursuit of “the perfect pair”
-> buy something 3-4x the cost that I originally intended.

The other thing is, all my sneakers end up as beaters. I’d want to baby those ones above to keep them looking so lovely and pristine, which they inevitably wouldn’t in wet, muddy UK.

I never wanted to wear any of my good shoes when we were on the east coast. Much easier to wear stuff out here in the desert.

Ended up grabbing these. Like the hairy suede and the colour. Will feel less shitty about beating them up, and they were more than half the price of the other pair. Time will tell if I regret not getting the first pair..

@jerkules Perfect! I posted some cream colored 990v1 a while back and I have a hard time keeping them clean so I don’t get to wear them as often as I’d like.

@SKT i saw yours earlier in the thread, they look really nice with a bit of wear on them. I can imagine they’re a pain to keep fresh looking though.
