Because fit is subjective, a lot of it comes down to you and if you’re comfortable. My favourite cuts are the 666 and 634’s because of where they sit on my waist. The 888’s sit higher and I often have a harder time feeling comfortable in them.

My advice is if you’re comfortable with where they sit, then yes, you are at a great starting point.

In my journey I used to wear my jeans a little too loose and they are now regulated to my (gained a little too much during the winter) jeans.

I now start where you are now and am much happier with the end results.

My go to now is if I can barely get the top button done, but can still bend, squat, and sit somewhat comfortably then I’m good to go.

The first week can be a little rough though…

This does not apply to all fabrics though (specifically whipcord). It does not stretch.

@goosehd ok this is perfect because I can do all of this now. And agree I have purchased several pairs that I bought to fit just right from day one that end up getting stretched out over time and retired to my 'winter collection'

My favorite denim thus far.
Weather was so nice in Denver today i took off my 25 ozers and put on shorts for a couple hours. Then the sun went down and I put my jeans back on straight away.

After two months, the first hand wash at 50 °. Surprisingly, I shook them once and they became soft again. These are the best jeans on this planet.

I had it in size 32, they sat the same as you. I couldn't wear them because of the pressure and I bought them in size 33 and became happy

I found the top block to relax considerably with wear. The high rise almost doesn’t even feel high rise anymore unless I really pull them up. I’d need a belt to keep them there but love where they rest without a belt. Super comfy.
