Here’s another rare one. First press. Since been rereleased but I think fairly hard to come by still. Took me a long time to get my hands on this masterpiece.

bought this second hand sometime late 80s, was always a special for me, although discogs now tells me it's of not much value moneywise, it is for me

I was fairly ambivalent about the dead, Garcia + Grissman etc until I spent a few seasons working at a winery in the early 2000s

This was one of the studio records that was on heavy rotation

@GraemeE I had a spell where I was big into the Dead. That has largely waned to my current perspective….Jerry/ The Dead have some true masterpieces of songs but there is a lot of it that does not float my particular boat.

This particular session with Grisman is some incredible playing of an excellent curation of songs. And this Mofi pressing sounds stunning.

@Mizmazzle I don't actually think I've heard it other than on cd through a crusty boom box.
I can imagine a mofi pressing on a good system would definately take it up a few notches

Not really being into live recordings kind of takes me out of the running to be a "true fan" but I have been able to track down copies of most of their studio stuff through the early 70s

Mars hotel is right about when I start to lose interest a bit

Joy followed by sadness this weekend when I saw an original release of this one on a thrift store shelf and opened to see that record itself was cracked and scratched to hell

@GraemeE Damm that would have been such a cool find. Finding a gem like that at the ThriftStore would have made my weekend.

Sound is phenomenal and the music obviously speaks for itself. My fav kinda vinyl listen.

@GraemeE my favorite kind of vinyl listening music is that sort of ambient, downtempo, psyche music that takes you on a sonic movie ride. Close my eyes, smoke a bowl, sip a bourbon, and get lost in the music. Air fits that bill perfectly!
