      Can both metals fade and age like the jacket? If so, I think I'd say nickle.

      I think Nickel won’t fade much… brass does and darkens which might look great too

        Then I'd switch to brass, actually. With this jacket, you almost have to think about the end color rather than the beginning color.

          The nickel is actually nickel-plated brass, so it "fades" to brass on the high points…..

          This is one from my 15 year old IH-526J (before we stamped them Iron Heart)......

                    Brass hardware in our kitchen… the left one is used regularly, the right one seldom. Brass has probably the best aging ability

                          I originally thoght brass, but I am persuaded that Nickel will look great with some serious patina…..
