I think Nickel won’t fade much… brass does and darkens which might look great too

The nickel is actually nickel-plated brass, so it "fades" to brass on the high points…..

Brass hardware in our kitchen… the left one is used regularly, the right one seldom. Brass has probably the best aging ability

I think the potential contrast with nickel as the jacket darkens is what does it for me.
