today when to the petroleum museum on the hill, it is the 1st well discovered on land, here.

the city was build by oil and gas, follow by other natural resourses..

brief history from a small fishing village to a oiltown .

looking down is the shops, markets, hotels,schools, hospitals,  etc….and further up is the south china sea..now more operation oil and gas is offshore.

Nice update, Stan.  Love seeing the oil & gas stuff.  So that first well was called The Grand Old Lady?  That sounds a lot more elegant than the first well here in Texas, which is named Spindletop.
