Thanks @Graham for helping with sizing. You da man…sleeves longer than I'd usually like, but I can deal with that. A few quick, poor quality, fit pics...I'd appreciate thoughts...

Suits you well. Looks good. But I do think the sleeve openings on this shirt are unusually wide.

Thanks Mike. Yeah, narrower sleeve openings are more forgiving of longer sleeves. These are super wide. Did your shirt ever shrink up even a smidge?

I was thinking lastnight that maybe the wide cuffs on the 220 can be attributed to the fact that the fabric is a lot thinner than a UHF. I don't own any other lightweight IH shirts so can't confirm but this seems like the most logical reason for the variance. UHF's are a lot thicker so don't give that appearance because of how the cuffs rest at the end of the wrist.

@Giles that could work. I'm giving it a 60 c wash now, and will see what the outcome is. We are on holiday for a couple of weeks, and this is going to be a perfect over shirt for cooler evenings. Once I've lived with the shirt a couple of weeks I'll let you know if additional male snaps might be a gower

This is such a beautiful shirt. The material looks and feels incredible. The build is awesome. Maybe IH should have a UHF and lighter 5.5 range as permenant runs, similar to have 21oz and 14 oz denim. It is also material. 😉

Agree that this shirt is amazing. I think @Giles said he was going to ask H about doing more lightweight shirts, but I could be wrong. They should definitely be a Spring/Summer staple. I'm just bummed that I only got to wear mine once before it started to get hot out.

I've been banging the more-lightweight-IH-shirts-drum for a few years now.  The lightweight IH shirts are so damn good and there is nothing else like them on the market right now IMO.  3sixteen is the only brand that comes close with RgT occasionally falling into orbit every few years or so.

No it just seems to be unique to this shirt for whatever reason.  I've owned about 6 other lightweight Iron Heart shirts and the cuffs didn't have this issue.

The IHSH-195 Ombre flannels are seriously the nicest lightweight flannel fabric you will ever feel.  It's a crime that the lightweight stuff doesn't sell as well ….those 195's should be permanent runs.  But I get it...if the shit doesn't sell as well then it's not wise to continue to make them.

My take on the lightweight flannels is that it's dependent on the pattern/colorway. I think UHF's tend to do better because customers like aspero cotton, they're very warm and the colorways are usually pretty cool. If H were to come up with a cool colorway/pattern in a lightweight flannel they'd probably do well. I'm not saying the 195's were horrible by any means, but maybe they didn't sell as well because the ombre patterns had been done before, or maybe it was the choice of ombre colors.

Either way, even though I love my UHF's I would love more lightweight options from IH.

@Filthy @Graham 60 c wash for 1hr 30 mins, VERY SHORT tumble dry, the iron dry. I got satisfactory shrink in the sleeve and body. I'd say just over half inch in the sleeve. I am very happy with the results

@Giles @Alex more 5.5 oz Madras shoes, PLEASE! I'll buy em all

Definitely in sleeve length,  and some in most other dimensions, including sleeve openings. I didn't use detergent or softener, just a straight 60 c wash, 800 spin cycle, 20 min tumble dry.

Yeah the sleeves do look puckered up a bit. Whenever mine is dirty I will give that a shot.

I also just compared your photos from before and after and I can definitely tell the shrinkage in the sleeve length. I'd say it was the tumble drying that helped shrink it the most. Glad it fits you perfectly now 🙂
