I don't see why not. The underside is the same as standard snaps but there may be marks left from the larger top part that would be visible unless you upgraded to CPO/Brass much in the same way as marks can be seen when changing a CPO shirt to normal size HD snaps

This one looks promising… between this and the IHV-31 would you say that the 31 > 32 in terms of warmth?  I live in a warmer climate and was thinking the 32 might be overkill and probably too warm.

I don't own either but I've obviously worn both in the photos and I think the IHV-32 would be slightly less warm than the IHV-31. The fur lining and that big collar would help keep the heat in more… in my opinion. The IHV-32 feels so much lighter so it could be great for layering should you end up somewhere a lot colder.

The N1 deck jackets are made of the same stuff as the IHV-31 (fur-lined whipcord) and that stuff is excellent at keeping the cold out and the warmth in.
