Ha!  Thanks!  Cycling is by far the easiest means to hit the goal.  Feels like cheating to be honest.

well, if you're not as … lazy ... busy ... handicapped ... full of excuses  ... as I am  ::)

but here we are again, another 32 km, adds up to 265 km for me now, way behind the schedule  😞  but I don't care, it's fun 😃

120km down this week. I'm just shy of one third of the way through the challenge. It definitely feels like cheating to do this on two wheels!

Day 52 and 390,000 meters (390 km's) to go.  I pm'd a friend at the beginning of this crazy challenge and said I would be happy to only make it half way.  Over that mark and now I'm ecstatic to see the end of the tunnel.

Weight has stabilized at 185, but body fat % is dropping  :).  I'll take that!

Great work @goosehd you noticing any differences in how things feel with a different level of fitness?

Better perceived lung capacity, lowered my resting heart rate, better recovery times, and lengthened my workout times.  Currently doing 15-20 km’s /day (previous 10 km’s).  Been mixing in more intervals at higher exertion levels, with rest days being longer row’s at a steady state.

Today I finished a 27 km row and still have energy left.  So far I’m happy with the results, but watching for signs of over exertion and trying to avoid injury.

All that sounds great well done. Good luck avoiding injury.

Thank you!  I took yesterday off because I wasn’t feeling it and it was a good call.  Really listening to my body and keeping fuelled (eating like a horse), hydrated, and resting or changing plans depending on how I feel for the day.

Just trying to stay at the upper limit of the comfort zone, but not going too far that I pay for it.

Do you have a system for increasing training load? I've found using the weekly increases of 10% to be useful; to avoid injury. The 10% can be difficult when altering the intensity and volume. That's what I'm working on now, going from high volume low intensity to lower volume higher intensity.

@goosehd This is a pretty insane increase in workload. Congratulations!

                                    Thanks guys @Nkwkfld  @tody

I’ve been training long distance (endurance) type events for 35 years.  Cycling, roller blading, running, and now rowing.  Early on, I realized I’m not a sprinter but enjoyed the mental aspect of the pain and then the resulting runners high.

When I started this challenge I was already fit enough to easily do 10 km/day and have gradually been increasing to the current 15/20km’s /day.  Really listening to my body is key.  If I’m hungry I eat, if I’m tired I don’t row, and if I’m sore I take it easy.

Warm up’s are essential and I don’t push until I feel ready.  Because I’m not training to race (don’t enjoy racing), I can go at my own pace.  Much like the story of the turtle and the hare.

I plan to finish this challenge and back off to more reasonable distances, knowing I can only take so much before I do get injured.  I’ll start mixing weight training in with the rows for fitness when I’m done.  Can’t lift as much as I used too, but it helps keep me balanced and for the most part injury free.

Sounds awesome. Your orientation toward daily training vs racing is something that I seem to be leaning towards too. At least with triathlon. Going to see how this 70.3 Weymouth 17/9 goes and then reassess. Running events are pretty enjoyable though for the communal aspect. Triathlon doesn't provide as many opportunities for chat since you're swimming, and then can't draft on the bike. I did have some fun competing against others on the run leg of triathlon last summer though. Anyway, the daily training is definitely great. Cool to create goals and challenges like this rather than a race!

I used the wrong adjective by saying easily…physically maybe, but mentally I wasn’t so sure.  The thought of doing 10 km’s day was the hard part and not knowing the wear and tear on the body was/is a limiting factor.

I set the challenge outside of my comfort zone and put a sub challenge (shorter than the 100 days) in it by trying to complete it by my 50th.  390 km’s in less than a month scares me and I don’t know if I can do it.

                                        Just taking a day at a time….

throw in a couple days a week doing morning and evening sessions? allows you to do more in one day than you could do in one session as there's time for recovery in between.
