@andykllhr congrats on the purchase. A classic cut and the flagship denim. Great place to start.

They won’t shrink at all. They are fully sanforised and will only stretch out with wear. With the 21oz a tight starting fit is a good thing. No need to soak/wash until they are dirty or you want them to return to starting size (after which they will stretch out again with wear).

@andykllhr Hi Andy, welcome, and as @neph93 has said, the 21oz is flagship stuff. Until about 4 years ago I'd only really had 12oz selvedge denim. 21oz gets buttery soft with actually very little wear.

It is all subjective. I usually give mine a warm water soak, for about 45 mins, just to soften things up ahead of my first wear. From then on I just wear and wash, 30 degrees, on a 1 hour cycle and 600 spin, hanger dry.

The internet is so full of 'look at me' vloggers that it can be overwhelming. Take very little notice unless they are from a reputable source, such as Iron Heart obviously! I guarantee it won't be long before you add to the collection!

That being said. I love that they're sanforized and won't shrink…. unless you'd like them to shrink?

What I'm getting at is that I love my 666s 21oz. I've had them for 6 months. Worn them a totalt of two months (skipped the summer) and I'm loving the warmer fabric now during winter.

They fit great in the waist with a little wiggle room, but I wouldn't mind shrinking the leg opening, thighs, and knee portions about an inch.

Would it be possible to shrink these without shrinking the waist too much? If so, would a hot wash do the job or a really hot soak?

@rovdjurstorget I doubt you’ll get any shrink out of them whatsoever I’m afraid

I'd be very surprised if you can get any meaningful shrinkage out of the 21oz….

As has been mentioned, there will be no shrinkage. However… if you have worn them regularly and you are happy with the way they have aged, you could start washing them a lot. This will take them back to starting measurements. They will stretch out again quite quickly, but return to starting dims with every wash.

More of a cautionary piece of advice, the 21oz denim will shrink about an eigth of an inch in the length with a hot machine wash and a trip though the dryer. You can see on my 822 pair old fade lines versus newer.

                        Edit, here's the fuller picture
