This is a remarkably understated piece. Unfortunately, the link has been broken on the seasonal collection thread for the IHJ-80-BLK, please forgive the crossed post. For me, the IHJ-80 fills the hole in my wardrobe for a hooded, three-season outer layer that is long enough to cover my IHSH's and UHF's. This completes the look for me. I've missed out on some real gems in the IHJ extinct section, but now I can wear IH with hoods and hand pockets all four seasons! Small victories

Agree completely. This jacket holds up so well in the rain and feels great.

Took my summer sale purchase for a spin today. Absolutely wonderful. Waterproof and warm outside.  Breathable and relaxed inside. 10/10. I feel like IH Tech Gear doesn’t get the love it deserves. I have 3 pieces now. This, a cordura windbreaker and the primaloft jacket.  My primaloft fits perfectly under this and the windbreaker which layers me up for practically anything. I only really need to bust out the goose for serious winter wear, or when I just want one piece to keep me warm. Anyways. Just wanted to show some love for this jacket and IH tech. Enjoy your day! Thanks LewisStonehouse It’s a proper jacket. This was going to be my original hiking jacket. But it’s just so nice I’m not sure I want to thrash it in the woods. Leg is healing. Almost there.

Throwing this picture above so the thumbnail doesn’t show the leg. neph93 if this is too much gore. Feel free to delete. But here’s what my injury looks like now.

It’s basically all scar tissue at this point. Just waiting for the time where I can semi comfortably wear pants. If I don’t wrap it or but a bandage on it. Jeans are just not in the picture. It’s too abrasive on such tender skin. The target date for that by the docs is in 1-2 weeks. So I’m just holding out for a bit more. Also it’s just on that right spot to be touching any fabric so it was a tough place for a wound to heal. At any rate. It was a giant mess prior to this and I’m just glad it’s at a manageable place for pain and mobility.

Haha yeah. I called it My Zombie Leg for a while. After the infection swelled up I had a bunch of necrosis (dead tissue) around it. And when the infection was at its highest point I had to walk with a cane. It hurt a lot. Now it it’s barely anything compared to that. 2021 was a tough year in health for me. But I’m still here and kicking it. Once this is back up to speed. I’m going to celebrate my health by hiking so much!

Could this jacket cope with a machine wash? Or more accurately, could my washing machine cope with this heavyweight monster? I just got one second hand, but it has a fairly large stain of unknown origin on the sleeve. Tried a wet spot clean but it isn’t budging

Cant tell if that’s soiling or bleaching 🤔

Discoloration aside, what do you think of it? It’s a BEAST of a rain coat!

Very happy to say that the stain came out in the wash. I too thought it looked like discolouration/bleaching, as it didn’t appear to be on the surface of the fabric. A 10 minute soak of stain removed and quick 30 minute wash @ 30C and it’s good as new. WONDERFUL jacket, super happy to have it. Will post pics at some point
