any project I think is going to be easy usually takes at least four times the amount of time I thought it would.
True story… and costs at least five times more!
Our windows arrive tomorrow and that will make a huge difference inside and out.

Indeed. Doubly so in this case as we are changing the facade of two sides of the house back to how it originally was (or in the case of the extension, changing it to mimic that).
In addition, when we did the inside, we had the walls cut to match the new windows and have had to leave the other windows unfinished, so the interior has looked half finished since we moved in. All that should be fixed within the next few weeks.

It is going slow and steady. I’m currently performing support and supply for the two guys working on the facade/cladding. Basically clearing up crap, driving it to the dump and picking up new materials. No point taking pictures as the scaffold is hiding the new cladding and windows. I’ll update next week.
Me and my boys cleaned up the cellar ready for the next stage, but I’ll need to give it a few days with a building fan and de-humidifier to get some of the damp out of the walls.
It looks kind of cool when it is all tidy.

Couple of milestones… the cladding on the biggest wall is finished and the new windows installed.
I celebrated by doing the interior of the first window. This price of timber is insane at the moment so what your looking at added about 200USD to the price of 800USD windows. I measured everything nine times [emoji1]

The new windows look worth every Kroner you spent on them.
Is the cladding at the bottom of the house going to be given a trim?
No. I think he'll leave it like that
«Finished» was possibly an exaggeration [emoji1] The drainpipe will be replaced, the cladding painted, and trimmed and the foundation wall under it plastered. But the windows are in and the wall is sealed which is a big deal, I promise.

Thanks for you interest! There is progress on a number of fronts…
We got our TV bench finished (and had to buy a new TV to go on it…)
All windows and external doors have been changed…
And I anticipate the boarding will be finished before xmas.
I’m working away in the cellar, and hope that two bedrooms and the man cave will be fully operational before xmas too.
