Hikes In Denim

It’s been thunder storming on and off for the last few days. There was quite a bit of damage. The road I was on was completely blocked off by two fallen trees. Was able to move one part of the tree to walk past. The rain cut me short today, but I did have a great time taking some photos of the Little Yellow River.

I enjoy your closeup pics and the inside-forest scenes! Keep them coming sir, they are so enjoyable.

Was recently out at Kayak Point Disc Golf resort. I was a little surprised how chilly it was when I stepped out of the car. Thankfully, I had packed my pair of IH for when I hit town later that day, so I slid some IH-777S-21 over my hiking/running shorts for a round. I was pleasantly surprised how the denim felt throughout that round. I couldn't straddle putt out quite as wide, but was otherwise fine in comfort level. Long course too, something like 8000ft of playing distance, with a long walk between 4-5 and 13-14. Hiking/disc golf in denim is not usually my thing, but wouldn't dismiss it at this point.
Plus, it was great to have a little protection against all the thorny berry bushes that grow up there.
EDIT: put to putt.

Right on FlannelnBooze ! Glad to hear about your outdoor adventures! Feel free to post pics if you like. This thread is for everyone
Unfortunately, no photos of me out on the course. Here are a couple I snagged of the course. Some monster holes even on the 'easier' of the two courses. Lots of walking in my IH out there.
By far and away my favorite hole on the course, and the only technical shot on the full 18:
Yes, I packed my discs in a shopping bag, since I couldn't fit my disc golf bag into my work bag among work clothes, PPE, running stuff, and my Aeropress.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve updated this thread. But today I decided that the Slubs need to be worn and hiked in again. I couldn’t hold out until the next denim competition. Here’s to the new year and getting back into the swing of things. So far added about 5 minutes to my average mile, but I was also taking a lot of photos too. I probably won’t be able to go as frequently as before, but slow progress is better than no progress! Since Matt now has the 777 Sample, I’m now wearing the Pronto x Iron Heart anniversary Slubs. And now the fun pics! All taken with my iPhone 13 Pro since it was a little too cold to not wear gloves.

Went for a long and vigorous one today. Got my mile tile down quite a bit since it was very cold. Started at 10F (-12C) and ended at 18F (-7.5C). Wore pretty much the same kit, but this time added long thermal underwear to the bottoms. This kit can really handle so much. I was sweating, but my mustache kept freezing [emoji3063]. Still manages to snag a few pics. You’ll notice in the map that it looks like I was walking on the water. Well the lake is at a 4 foot draw down for various projects and is mostly frozen. There used to be a bridge that connected the two sides down the middle, but it sank long ago - according to my dad’s stories. But you can see a road that kind of goes into no where. This is the furthest I’ve seen it go out before and it was a fun sight and stinky smell. But all in all a great hike. Now I’m laying down and watching some hockey because I am totally wiped out.
I call this part of the hike the Conifer Causeway
The road to no where
Of course there were some tires there^

My favorite place to sit and take a break.
