I did notices top block a little loser… to my other 555’s maybe a soak will definitely
      sort that out...

You can see grey effects look closer at the jeans.

Interesting observation. Now this reminds me sbg. Sbg dye was pouring out like crazy. This means the denim has some great potential for gray fading .

Last night after taking them out of the drier I decided to put them on to check them out, even though they were a little damp around the button hole area. I had stretched the holes jus enough to get them buttoned and went about my business. I haven’t remeasured but I don’t think they shrank at all. Anyway it’s now time for me to go to sleep,so I go to unbutton them, but as they dried the holes re-tightened up and there’s no way I can get them opened. Good thing I didn’t have to pee,or I’d have been in real trouble. Half hour and some bruised fingers later I got the top 2 buttons opened. I’ve been wearing them today and they feel like they may have stretched out a bit. Eventually I’ll get some pics up,but these look like 634s or even 888s on me as they’re quite baggy in the thighs and butt. The waist, thanks to Adam,is absolutely spot on. This is really the kind of fit I was looking for, since I’d like to be able to wear them on the bike. Just a note to anyone who’s been, previously, sacred off by the 555 thigh measurements, well fret no more.

I was thinking the same when I saw the picture’s from Japan..

                    They look baggy on him.

But in my picture are the same, but I like them how they are.

At the end of the day the denim gives new meaning to the term “SICK”. IH really hit it out of the park with this one.

.  Not sure how washing them with another pair of raws will reduce the agitation, which is what you need to get the shrinkage. I hot soaked, washed and dried mine and they didn’t shrink all that much if at all.I’ve been wearing them for a few days now and the actually feel as if they might have stretched a little. At the end of the day they are really comfortable which is pretty important to me. I got a tag size 36 with a 37.4 waist.

I thought I've read about marbling on these forums if they're run through a regular wash so my thinking is maybe another piece of clothing could limit that. Hot regular wash cycle. It could also just be me overthinking this because I'm spending 450$ on a pair of jeans.

I hot soaked mine in the tub first and the dye was literally running out of them, they were inside out. From there just threw them into the wash with a bunch of other black stuff. No marbling. I know it's crazy money to spend on denim/jeans,but,when you think about the cost per wear, they're not more than Levis. I've never bought anything from IH that I didn't consider 100% worth it. Every time I put them on I can't believe I have a pair of 25OZ black denim jeans, and it puts a smile on my face. Not everybody gets it.

The sizing is what's keeping my from pulling the trigger on these again. When I first bought them they couldn't find anything below a measured 39in, and I'm right about 38in. I'd imagine that 25oz high rise bunched up at the waist with a belt is quite uncomfortable even if there is some shrinkage.

The other aspect which may or may not be of importance to you is that they’re bigger in the butt, thighs and knees than traditional 21OZ 555s. I have the IH diaper butt, the thighs and knees are baggy as well, but I don’t care because they’re super comfortable when I’m riding or wearing them in general. Maybe the 777s will be a better option for you.

Putting jeans in together is only likely to increase marbling. More chance for a session and uneven distribution of water.

Marbling is super easy to avoid. Just wet your jeans thoroughly before you put them in the wash and wash on no or low spin.

                                      You may well be overthinking…

These are definitely roomier than the 555xhs-ib. Could and would probably size one down but I'm already at the bottom of the bell curve. Hot soaked with agitation followed by 4 weeks of wear. Early signs of fading have started to appear.
