IHJ-91-BUR - Lightweight Quilted Parka Jacket - Burgundy
-
@AdamJ @Alex in terms of "toughness" is it pretty robust, or more silky like the quilted lining used on Lined CPOs and trucker jackets?
I know it's a dumb question, but I am constantly catching the "fabric" around the ziper of my Duck Filled Qhilted nylon bomber and I keep ripping holes in it.. and I use down liners constantly so I know this would be used a TON!

Cheers @AdamJ - many thanks good sir!

Bought! And… finally remembered to grab a forum mug from the outlet.

I just did the same thing, mug wise!

Got it today. Loving it. It's extremely sturdy for this kind of jacket. Definitely feels like the IH version of this kind of quilted lightweight. The seams around the zipper are great. No chance of getting fabric trapped in the zipper like on a Patagonia. I like that the cuffs are quite narrow, which will to keep the warmth in. Front pockets are great for keeping hands warm. This will layer well on super cold days and work well by itself on sort of cold days. Pics coming soon. Also, @Giles, was there any sizing smaller than the XS in Japan? My wife is pretty envious, in case XXS exists and is importable. If it does exist, do you have measurements?

Haha fair enough. Don't sleep on this one, folks!
Worn with 18 oz 555s with something like 2.5 years of wear, a 6.5 oz loopwheel tee, a Strike Gold indigo hoodie, and Quoddys in dire need of a resole. Sized as a medium, which is my most typical IH size, and I think it's pretty spot on. I'd be happy with a small through the body if not layering underneath, but sleeves and length wouldn't work out if I did.

@cander49 Those pictures are outstanding! Now I want that hoodie…
Hahahahaha wait your post was edited. Did you mean the hoodie or the jacket? The jacket fit is great at true-to-size. The Strike Gold hoodie is a terrible fit. Lol Sized up, and still, sleeves are a little too short, and hood is so tiny that it pulls the whole thing a full inch above my shoulders. Would recommend the IH, but not the SG unless you have short arms and a very, very, very small head.

Haha yeah, it doesn't even say edited. I must have seen it very quickly! Hopefully I didn't confuse anyone with my original comment about the hoodie before clarifying.

I haven't received mine yet, but am anxious about the short cuff. I think I would have preferred the longer storm-type found on most other jackets, but I thought I'd give it a try and see how I like it. I'm hoping to use it more as a hoody than a jacket, so let's see

Good to know on the SG hoody. I've almost bought one a couple times based on the arm measurements on Self Edge, but I think they must be doing middle of neck to end of sleeve measuements!
On the Burgundy IH, wow! It looks great. The black is sold out in my size, but I'm digging this color. I have too much black anyway, and this would look good WITH black.
Also, your jeans look amazing. How long have you been wearing them? -

I don't mean short, but that it's a small/slim cuff opening. I sometimes have issues with sleeves being too short (my arms are a bit longer than average for my height), but that's not an issue here. Unless you have really long arms, I think you'll be OK on the sleeve length.
