I wear mine as a jacket sometimes, too. For summer time, it can work as both a jacket and a shirt.

Yeah, same here.  Actually, I don't think I've ever worn an IHSH without at least a white undershirt underneath.

Any beanpoles out there tried an IH work shirt? Can the wider mid/lower torso work on a slimmer build, or am I better off sticking to the westerns? Love the style, especially this OD, just worry it might need a beefier frame.

@Oroccoco I’m not sure I’d call him a beanpole (he is slim and certainly not short)  but @Peterpiper wears work shirts a lot and they really suit him.

For the record I think the idea that “slim cut” and “tapered” items are for slim people (which means “wide cut” and “relaxed” are for big folks), is a misconception when it comes to IH (and otherwise). It is all about body type and shape, which is a much more complex issue than short/tall, slim/wide. That is why there is size S and M in work shirts, and size XXXXL in westerns. Also loads of “beanpoles” look great in the 634 cut for example, while 777’s can still work on wide bodies with short inseams.

@neph93 you're the reason I picked one of these up.  If you'll recall a few days ago, you told me about these launching in the IHSH-33 thread.  Thanks/no-thanks! 😃

Imagine if you hadn’t gotten the heads up and the release came as a surprise. You’d still be wanting one, however, you may have missed your size, gotten serious FOMO, or experienced severe cognitive dissonance at the sudden unexplained appearance of an awesome shirt in the shop. I feel
            This way was best  😉

                Thanks for noticing, and fixed...

@Oroccoco Go for it. As Neph said I’m tall, 6ft, 80kg~ish. I typically go for a large in IH shirts, apart from this one as it happens. This one I went XL. It’s really a matter of choice, I like the look of Workshirts more. To me they are more versatile..

                    Thanks @Peterpiper and @neph93

It's the hem/opening that concerns me - 45" or so on a 35" waist (size large) might be a bit baggy, but yours look great on you Peter. I appreciate that it's a looser cut and different look overall. All about finding the flattering cut though.

Ha, you're not wrong!  That definitely was an unplanned expense but I know that those shirts are going to get tons of use, especially since I live in a somewhat warm climate in which I can't usually throw on a jacket, but I can always throw on a denim shirt.

I always loved IH’s westerns, but I have to say these work shirts are killing it. Love the unbuttoned look, too.

That looks fantastic om you, unbottoned or not. I’ve just bought two shirts in the western style and this has me regretting that somewhat.

As a dad with a dad bod, I’m beginning to realize that the work shirt is a better fit, too. I can’t say no to a western, though.

Received this beauty today in XXL.  It's my first denim shirt & my first overdyed anything.  Pretty stoked.  Looking forward to wearing the hell out of it.

@Paul9221 - Really enjoyed your post about how you decide if you will buy an item & your thoughts on this shirt.  I was on the fence & kept thinking about what you said.

@Wlemon - Shirt looks killer on ya sir!

Glad to help, @hoppy_IPA !  Did you happen to notice the Johnny Cash black work shirt (IHSH-275-BLK) that dropped today?  I had NOT anticipated that drop!

I ordered the IHSH-75-INDIGO and IHSH-75-OD.  The 75 indigo fits like a dream.  The OD was just a bit tight in the chest (looks like it was the runt of the large litter) so IHUK is sending me an exchange that's towards the larger end of the large scale in the P2P department.

Somehow, over the course of years, I've become a western shirt guy.  Didn't plan it.  I guess it just happens when IH has issues with denim button holes 🙂  That said, the work shirt look takes some getting used to.  It's much more billowy around the waist.  As a thin guy with a big chest, it makes me look a lot wider.  But I prefer the work shirt pockets and I'm not a big fan of the western yoke so there's some really good trade-offs.  And the work shirt just feels more like a get-things-done-around-the-house kinda shirt.  Know what I mean?

Anyhow, lovely, lovely shirt.  I can't wait for my replacement 75OD to arrive!
