That was the front rise, the back rise lost around 0.5 inches. Not sure the exact temp but in the neighborhood of 50C. This was in a front loading machine for 40 mins. Also a cold rinse and no spin. Then I hung to dry in the shower. I would also note that I soaked them inside and out in the shower prior to the wash with warm water. Wash was normal (not delicate).

      Hope this helps.

My thumb is nearly bleeding but I finally got them on  😎

They are quite tight in the waist but I know they'll stretch out up to an inch. Do you think this fit looks ok?

Just checking that I can actually move a few inches in these things…  😃

I agree with these fellas ^ as the fit looks pretty much spot on.

I used the NephcarjackTM technique to ease the waist out slightly and it worked a treat… not so very well on my black 21's 😞

                still hanging in there!

Look good! I have been in mine for a few days now and getting some leg twist on my right leg, is this common for XHS? Its slight, nothing like LHT but it's there.

Love the fit by the way

I get leg twist on all my heavy jeans, regardless of type of denim. Theoretically it is possible with any twill fabric and I have a strong suspicion that body shape and fit play a role.

Thanks for the feedback about the fit. It was reassuring and helped me to make my mind about about keeping them.

I've owned so many different Iron Heart jeans over the years. I've never quite got it right. I'm really hoping this time I'm onto a winner.

The fit is slightly more flattering on the 555 to other jeans I tried on recently (634, 666, 777), in my opinion, while avoiding being too 'skinny' and fashionable like some other brands.

They look great, GTB.  I think you nailed the balance between comfort & a fitted silhouette👌

Loving the 555 XHS, now about a week in wearing every day they are getting more and more comfortable, but maybe I just need to put on some of my other denim to realize XHS is STIFF.

At any rate I am eyeing the XHSib, outside of the color does anyone have both XHS and XHSib that can tell me the feel and break-in differences? Any preferences from those that have both?
Would like to understand the overall differences besides that of appearance
                                  Thank you!

There are no essential differences as it is the same fabric. That is to say that the construction of the fabric and the way it behaves is identical. The hand is marginally different as both the warp and the weft is dyed on the XHSib. After that it is the aesthetic difference in colour and fading, although even the latter follows the same form and pattern on the standard XHS.

I’m curious what to expect from this denim over time.

Does the denim soften with time? And to what degree does that happen? (Is it always stiff to some extent or will it be truly soft?)

It will always be heavy but the stiffness will go and they will become ridiculously pliable and soft. It is quite the transformation, however it does take time and happens incrementally. One day after half a year or more of regular wear you’ll put them in and realise they are soft and wonder when that happened.

That’s really crazy. I must admit, I found it hard to imagine them ever becoming soft. Your reply makes me excited about how they’ll evolve over time.

Not that I care too much about fading (I like the deep indigo colour), but presumably this denim fades relatively quickly with wear?
