@stook1 with a standard 30c wash and a bit of spin, I got a small amount of shrinkage in the sleeve as well as the shoulder (which has since stretched back out). I still give the sleeve a half fold back

The devil is in the detail..

Thanks guys, did a hot soak in the tub with the hottest water that I have, which is about 120F.  Then I decided to give it a near boil on the stove.  And now I gave it a hot dry in the dryer.  It's almost done.  Let's see how it is now.  I have some room to spare throughout.

Edit:  …. and done.  Unfortunately, I failed to take before measurements, haha  ::)  However, I definitely got some shrinkage all around.  Main issue for me was the sleeves and cuffs, both of which are a little smaller.  Shoulders and torso also came in a bit.  Noticeably better fit for me now.

Isn't this thing of ours special?? I mean, it's got something for everybody!! For instance, what better way to enjoy the patina journey of our prized pieces than to get some science involved! I'm gonna need some data!!!

At this point, i've got several random notebooks strewn across the house containing random measurements of random (mostly IH, lets be honest) garments i've acquired and put through the lab….er, laundry, over the last couple years. What does this anecdotal evidence conclude: Mark likes to measure and record data points when on vacation!!! NERD!!!

Damn this thing of ours is nerdy!!

Currently in the tub on the hottest of soaks. I tried lying to myself saying it looked fine but reading back on this forum it seems to be the best advice.

@mugsie I think that looks great! Shoulders and sleeves are pretty spot on!!

If you only soak, you probably won't get too much shrink. Washing it and the agitation of the washing machine will result in a bit more shrinkage. I bet you'll be happy after the soak. Mine was a bit baggy and long on me so I went for a double blaster!!

Thank you I need that reinforcement. I posted in the FB group and someone also said it was fine. I think when a hem goes at the end of my crotch instead of middle or above I start to overthink if it looks like a dress. I’m 5’6” so sizing can be fun.

@mugsie I see what you mean on the hem. Might be a tad long. I find the rise of my jeans has a lot to do with how a shirt will lay. A higher rise results is a longer shirt looking longer and a shorter shirt looking better and vice versa…low rise make a longer shirt seem not as long.

Post soak post some pics. You'll get the best advice here you could ever want!!

Yup I wear 888s for the most part. Right now I have PBJ EX-003 Straight cut with a slightly lower rise than the 888.

888s are my go to as well. The jeans in the pics above are some lower rise Tellasons. I think this Wabash has a better length presentation on the lower rise jeans.

Great fit. Gonna go and try on my 888 when I’m home with this on. Never even thought to take into consideration the rise when regarding shirt length. Tumbled dry hot in dryer and got a quarter inch shrink in length. I think it fits great. Shoulders and chest is always my most concern and everything else generally falls into place after.

The arms, chest, and shoulders are dialed. Not a bad backup plan having it shortened at a tailor if you’re wanting a bit less length. I’ve def had some arms shortened on jackets and it made a world of difference.

Each time you hot wash it you get a touch more shrink the first couple times. Might not want the arms any shorter though.

I had a tailor tell me years ago that she wouldn't touch my Iron Heart shirts because she'd never be able to put it back together as well as it was originally made. I respected that a great deal because not only did I know my shirts are really well made, but also this tailor knew that and didn't want to return the shirt to me with its integrity being compromised.
