Hi all !  I'm new to the forum, my name is Martin, 42 years old, I'm a baker in France.
Yesterday I received my first IH jeans, an 888 25oz, what a monster!
I am 1.73m (5'8) tall and I weigh 72kg (159lbs), after a long hesitation I chose a size 31. I manage to close the button quite easily but I find the waist tight.  On the other hand, I am comfortable in the butt and thighs.
What do you think, should I change it to a size 32?

Me too, I would stick with the size. The waist will stretch.

@tinmar I'm in agreement with the two above opinions. If you've managed to get into them and tackled the buttons and they are tight in the waist then you've made it as the denim will relax a bit over time. Enjoy and welcome to the forum  🙂

The 666 has a more classic, trim top block, smaller over the hips and rear and with a lower rise. Depending on how your 555’s fit you may need a size up. But you may not.

The thigh starts similarly slim but only tapers slightly to the knee before dropping fairly straight to the hem. So if you can manage the 555 thigh you’ll be fine.

My new 666XHS. Size 31. One size down from my 666 21 oz. Warm soaked for an hour and then cold washed, inside out. Removed after first wash cycle, and then cold rinsed in a tub. Drip dried for 24 hours. Fit was tight, but reasonable and have now relaxed around my hips and thighs. I really like the heft of the denim and these will be wearable for the next 5 months in Cleveland, Ohio.
Definitely will be hemming to 31”. Cuffed just so I don’t kill myself walking around the house.
