@Dmart love em! I'm so stoked to see you post those, cos it's like a mini preview for me. I'm really psyched to get some wear on the natural leather, love the way it turns out.

And @jimmer_5 the Lofgrens are beautiful, but after the hassles I've had owning them, I'm not sure I'd own another pair (will especially have to see after I've tried the Lous). There are little details IMO that make the Lofgrens just a little sleeker — I especially prefer the single line of stitching on the sole — but are small details and a huge price difference worth it for boots that are so hard to get on? Seems sorta obvious.

All that said, I don't think I'd do anything differently. I've really enjoyed my Lofgrens (and will continue to), but just learned some valuable information in the process.

I am really exited to see them age. From pictures, they must become beautiful.

I had this with the Clinch. I really liked the silouette of the boot. But regardless of the size, I couldn't find a way to make them work. Just couldn't get in.
With this newly won experience, together with the pricepoint, I doubt I will have to look any further. Especially the customisation makes it even better. At one point, horsehide will have to find its way to me. Now I'm waiting for the custom Mr. Lou in Burlap.
The only other boot I would love to get is from Brian the bootmaker, but looking at the waiting list it might remain more of a dream than become reality.

Ha no, I just have to wait all day for the Wescos to get here. I'm like a little kid, might as well just be sitting by the window and staring.

Well, they fit amazingly — and as the lore goes, they slipped right on. I unbuckled them first try-on, then second time I realized I didn't even have to.

                Some takeaways:

My feet look huge in the lighter color — I am used to this, though. Such is Sasquatch life.

I have a little bit of heel slip, but I really don't think I could've done a 12. My toes feel like they're right at the end. I think if the slip bothers me, I could easily fix it with insoles.

I feel like my Lofgrens are prettier but they're getting a bit of side-eye after trying these Wescos on.

I'll take some pics when I can!

Wesco is the shit. I had a ok I get it now moment with the first pair.

When the boot softens and the insole moulds that will likely disappear.

Ahh, that's heartening! Would be cool if it does, but I really just sort of expect this with slip-on boots. I mean, what heel slip there is is very minimal. Literally the only thing I can complain about with these things is that they make my feet look huge, but like I said, I'm very used to that 😃

I have Wesco slip-ons on the MP, Boss and Morrison toe (no Mr. Lou’s which have a slimmer shaft and heel cup). I have them in 10.5D or 10.5E. They all had slip to a degree when new, but they all have much less/none now.

All that being said I am blessed with a relaxed attitude to boot fittings heel slip does not bother me in the slightest nor does extra room in the toe box.

Actually it's sort of eating at me a little bit — I hate to do it because I'd like to have these to wear immediately, but I'm gonna send em back for a 12E. I really hope they still have a pair in stock.

@popvulture - hey bud, for what it's worth, it may be worthwhile to simply order the 12E before you return your 13s so you can try them on side by side.

The thing with Wesco is the stitching on the sides, being so hard core, can drastically affect the comfort of the boot is it's even franctionally too small.

To put it this way, my 10E Mr. Lous are a glrious fit, but not snug at all. They are comfortable as all get out, but I could have gone 10D probably. I also have my custom Morrisons on a 10D - and they have a lot of slip due to the less flex of the crepe sole.

Now, I have the 7500 Engineer in a 9.5E. In theory, they should fit similarly to a 10D, but in fact, the stitching on the Vamp hits the side of my foot in a completely different place, and even after 3 years of wear, they are quite uncomfortable for the first 30-45 minutes everytime I wear them.

going a full size down might manage them unwearable, and the slim shaft and heelcup of the Mr. Lous could mean difficulty getting them on with the instep. I know having 2K in credit card charges at one time isn't what most want, but if you can return one, I would venture you would want to be 100% sure you return the right one.

                                  Cheers,

                                  Adam

That's a good call — I might do that. The thing that was really getting me about the 13E is how huge they look. I compared them to all of my other shoes/boots and they just looked like fucking skis. I was kinda like "hey they're chunky boots, I'll deal with it," and then I decided to actually feel where my toe was. It didn't feel like there was a ton of room at the end of the boot, but by feeling my toe it let me know there was a good bit more room. Now, will the 12E be too drastic? Dunno… we'll see.

I guess it all comes down to comfort on a couple levels. 1 - do they physically fit, and 2 - do I feel good in them. I think the 12Es could maybe feel a tad snug but if I didn't feel like Bozo, it'd be a compromise I'd be willing to make. But yep, TBD.

                                      that's fair.

To be fair, you could also remove the insole in the 12E and get about 1/6-1/4 size more space.. I have tiny feet, so I just don't know… does a 12.5 not exist?

Unfortunately, for those of us who regularly have the problem of 12 being too small and 13 being too big, 12.5 is a rare size to find… almost never.
