Oi lads!
Finally found my first pair of IH jeans, and though they've definitely made my daily bike commutes a bit more challenging I love them to death.
But ehm.. How many wears do you guys wait before first wash?
Some people write in months, but I don't rotate and only ever wear other pants when I'm working on my boat.

Varies from person to person. Some people will wear everyday for six months without washing. Some people will do that regardless of smell, dirt or whatever. Some people will do that for even longer. That is not my thing.
I’m with Giles, when they start to smell noticeably they get a wash. Dried bread dough, ground in avocado, childrens secretions…. wash.
Sometimes that is three months, sometimes that is two weeks...

I am with Giles and Neph93 on this also. Stinking and cute dont mix. If they are dirty or smelly wash them. Nothing bad will happen. Thats for sure.

Not gonna lie, kinda missed the roominess of the 805’s while wearing these today.

Yeah but those jeans will always and forever be cooler than cargo pants, even if they are IH cargo pants.

My go to pair for a year since I got em, love the 21oz denim. Probably worn 150 times, and only really starting to show their fades. Favourite is the coin pocket fade. I feel I’ve only just begun with this pair.

I love the glacial progress of this denim. Due to its omnipresent nature its genius doesn’t always get mentioned enough.
The comfort, heft and wearability mean they can be worn without thinking day, after day without care for the weather or activity. They don’t really develop in an obvious way until (for example), 150 days later when they suddenly look stunning, and as you say, have years ahead of them to continue their journey.

Well put. This was my first pair of IH. I change into them the moment I get home every night, and have worn them on job sites before up to 80F and been comfortable. Wonderful pair in every way: comfort, wearability, durability, etc. Hell, even worn them on the disc golf course, which involved lots of hiking. Looking forward to seeing how mine develop. Mine are right around 9 months old at this point, with near daily wear (~250 wears). Maybe a couple photos are in order for this weekend.

Here are how my pair are developing. Purchased October 2020, and I've worn them nearly daily since then, either in the evenings after work, or all day on denim days in the office. I think the phone applied a little HDR to these photos.
Really not knocking much off the front, which I like. It's all whisker development so far. Should have some 25oz IH denim showing up soon to share winter duties with my 21s.
