Iron Chef WAYCT - What Are You Cooking Today

those bowls are gorgeous Giles. Did you use your homemade noodles from the other day?
We (used to) frequent a Japanese restaurant for ramen but haven't been in quite awhile.
You are making me crave Ramen, but i also miss my favorite appetizer.
If you want to keep on the Japanese theme in the kitchen, I highly recommend trying Chicken Kaarage (Japanese fried chicken).

Don't act like you aren't thrilled to stumble upon them. There's room on the shelf!

Thank you, and because the pattern is "Japan" it's very appropriate….
Re: yours, I don't I am afraid. I'm no expert but I'm guessing it is genuinely oriental as there are no western markings on it....
I bidding on this as a present for P atm....

Aren't they amazing. They were a present from some very good German friends. They were at my Kanreki in The Explosion Museum

Incidentally, on the foreshore in front of which, is where I fish a lot and where I found this hyper-cool stone shot from the 17th Century lying in the mud…
The setting of, and artefacts in, Explosion left a lasting impression on them, so they had these made with images that conjured up memories of that party…...

Maybe the kids will come around. I did. My grandfather was a part of popularising king crab as a food in the USA (was already popular in Japan) in the 1950's, and the family fishing business was healthy until overfishing depleted stocks in the 80's. My family ate fish for most dinners, and oysters were a special once in a while thing to have. Here's an old ad from Life Magazine the company did.
