I kind of regret saying that drop dead part @sabergirl Because that's like just frustration and alcohol speaking. There's plenty of things I feel like I want to live for and i have recently been given a cool opportunity to do something I've always wanted to be able to do.
And…. I am currently working on trying to do something i hope will pan out for the IH community as a way to show my gratitude and appreciation. But I have wanted to do this thing for a long while now but haven't been able muster the ambition to do so. But I am slowly working towards it.

Just curious Mike, what type of work do you do? You can pass on answering of course and I won't take offense

I say eat some delicious slices and drink some satisfying beer if that's what gets you through, @Filthy. I just switched to WFH and have been cuddling my cats a lot and tearing up reading stories about ppl getting money to keep their small businesses afloat. Tryna find hope where I can.

Interesting @Filthy, seems very specialized.

It takes a 'special' person to do my kind of work… our turnover rate is almost 100 percent. I have been doing my job 14 years.
-
@endo we have an office in Brussels so I don't get to that part very often. But every once in a while.
@goosehd I answered an add in the paper. I was just trying to find a minimum wage job in retail or join the military at that time. The military laughed me out of there and nobody wanted to hire me. You have to have a driver's license, clean criminal record, and had to fill out a 50 page application to be granted unescorted access to nuclear power plants. And I have to pass monthly drug tests and get a department of transportation physical.
The rest is all on the job and classroom training. There's lot of safety and sight specific training too. I don't have to work in the nukes anymore. And I mostly work in natural gas and fossil power plants.

They send me to all the difficult and shittest places to go. Like if is dangerous they send me because they know I am crazy. I did refuse to go to Nigeria recently though. I was worried about the dangers per say, but sleeping on a cot in a communal living situation isn't my jam. I am pretty crafty and street smart so they can send me somewhere and I can fix stuff if it breaks down and they dont have to worry about me being kidnapped or anything like that.
There's one other guy they like to send to all the nice international places. Then they staff a lot of the jobs with the guys from either our Belgium or Australian offices.

St. Patrick's corned beef brisket and cabbage.

Idk of this counts as authentic Hawaiian food @RoxRocks86
.
I never went to a restaurant like this before. But it, Katsu, was amazing.
-
@Filthy did you go to L&L bbq or something?
It’s not necessarily Hawaiian as katsu is Japanese, but it’s def a popular local dish served exactly like that.

Had a look at their menu, everything sounds freaking good right about now.
