Sorry if this question has been asked before - I'm wondering how this shirt feels on? It looks like it's quite tough, a bit similar to the 218. Is there a breaking in period?

It’s rugged af. More so than the IHSH-218. I don’t know if I’d consider a shirt to have a breaking in period but it takes some wearing and washing before it approaches anything like “soft”. Happily it looks great on, straight from the get-go.

Kinda how it looks. But without haven't tried one on I could have been totally wrong. Thanks for that Neph and you're right, they look amazing. Possibly my next purchase.

You can’t go wrong mate. For some reason the cut of the ‘62’s is even better than the IH standard western cut. The shoulders are a tad wider but they taper toward the waist even more.

I am going to row back a tiny bit on my previous comment as I only just noticed we are talking about the -BLK and not the -IND. The sulphur dying on the black Wabash takes a little more out of the fabric, so the indigo version is possibly the more rugged. However they are both beasts.

Ooh cool, good to know! Have you had any clothes made from the black material? Wondering if it attracts fluff/hair as black clothing often can. I've got a white cat and he does like to she'd his fluff  😃

I have a vest and trousers made of it. It has a flat smooth hand so does not pick up fluff or dirt as quickly as other materials.

Been thinking of getting the Johnny Cash III for so long that I kind of overlooked this shirt, but now I’m considering it instead. Looking at measurements for the 62-BLK has me confused. I need around 18inch in shoulders so will probably go for an XL. All the measurements on this size look like they’ll be great after a hot wash, apart from the opening. At 22.7inch is much larger than any other IH shirt I’m used to. Does anyone feel like this shirt skirts out from the waist, or have issues with the opening? Or is the effect minimised by the weight of the fabric?

Never noticed that the opening is an issue. On the contrary the 62’s are the best fitting IH shirts I own. The cut is a little different to other westerns. They taper more at the waist as well.

Okay cool, it’s almost certainly me being overly cautious. Normally I’d just take a punt with an XL but I’m thinking about pimping so want to be confident in the measurements. Luckily there’s a few in stock so I’ll just be a nuisance and ask the guys to find the narrowest opening XL and send me the measurements. Fingers crossed it works out and I’ll pull the trigger.

If you are super-worried, buy the one that the guys think has the best measurements for you.  Try it on, and send it back for pimping…..

Say it every time, but this might be my favourite IH shirt yet!

Obligatory fit pics of my XL. Went against my usual instincts to size “fitted” and go for a Large, and I’m glad that I did. Told myself that if it ended up slightly too large then I could wear as an overshirt, but personally I am really happy with how it turned out. Sleeves are slightly long but I’m more than happy to cuff. Will wear for a little longer before deciding whether to go for a hot wash.

Thank you @Graham for all your help.

Great fit @jerkules. At the same time you could easily wash at 40C and it will tighten a little, lose some length in the body and arms and you will still be killing it.

Thanks @neph93 , your white version with copper snaps definitely urged me to pimp this shirt! I could never trust myself with a white IH shirt though  😃
