@going_to_battle They’ll shrink between one half an inch to one inch with a wash/soak and stretch out an inch.

This is what I struggle with though….

Based upon the comments above, if I wear them for a few months, the waist should stretch about 1".

When I eventually wash/soak them, if the waist shrinks an inch, won't that take them back to their current (i.e. brand new) waist? It shouldn't shrink them to even smaller than they are now, right?

Wearing now to achieve stretch will mitigate some of the shrinkage when they finally get a wash. In my experience it mitigates most but not all.

It will not mitigate shrinkage in the length, so the bigger issue is your leg shrinking an inch and taking and fading or worked in creases with it, further up your leg.

Neph I remember you posting this advice recently & found it to be very helpful.

Below is another one from you I liked:

          @neph93:

In general, XHS will end up slightly larger (by about half an inch), than published measurements after shrinkage and stretch has happened.

Thats a really good point about the fades-creases moving further up the leg with a washing.
Im in the same position with my 666-21s. soaked them twice, but no wash yet.
Im putting that off till its absolutely necessary.

what's the best way to lock them in?
wearing them wet after the wash maybe?

@dinobarnesberlin you don’t have to worry sir. The 21oz is fully sanforised and will not loose any length in the leg.

Left cuff with one inch added for shrinkage hopefully will get me that sweet spot.

Had these so long I cannot remember if I soaked them or not. These have been in storage for 5 years or so.

…I finally got around to repairing that coin pocket rivet that slipped off after their first bath.

...a smaller hammer may have been in order :o but I don't believe this rivet will be coming off any time soon. 😃

...also a pic of my buddies handy work on the torn rear pocket. He used UV resistant Sunbrella thread, so I got that going for me. Also, I asked him what his sewing rig is and he informed it is a PFAFF 545 for those who know their machines. 🙂

…was getting a little self conscious of the big cuff on my 634XHS's. When you wear your jeans for long periods of time in between washings things get a little loose and hang on the hips a little lower. Was feeling like the sailor on the 'Cracker Jack' box. :o

...so I've noticed a lot of you cats and kittens will take your big cuff and cuff it again by half, while still leaving the selvedge and chain stitching exposed! Great idea and really changed the look and feel on this particular cut.

...is there a name for that style of cuff? Also, that's a 100 oz. denim cuff right there!! ??? 😎
