    I would measure a shirt you like, then compare that to the published measurement chart. That's going to give you a better guide than using your jeans. We all have different body types so that's the best method, I'd say.

      @constant:

      Hello I have an ironheart 526PJ in size '38' on the tag - what would I be in this shirt?

      @Wlemon speaks the truth! Comparing jackets and shirts is a bit like comparing apples and oranges. For example I take L (40) in most jackets (your size 38 jacket is an M). However I take XL in most shirts (but not all). You could need an S,M or L in the shirt depending on how the dimensions fit your body shape.

      Measuring some shirts that fit you well to get an idea of your ideal chest and shoulder measurements is the best way.

        Thanks - I think I am leaning towards a small, but a medium could also work - do you think a hot soak would shrink down a medium at all?  Would love shoulders around 17 and length a max of 28.5 and chest a max of 21

          The 12oz denim Shrinks very little. A good example is the P2P measure not changing between the raw and OD versions of the 75..

          I tried to shrink one years ago with very little luck 🙂

              I'm not sure if I'm correct but look at the differences in the measurements of the OD version of this shirt and normal version and that'll show you about how much shrink you're going to get, since the OD process removes all of the shrink.  And if you look at that measurement chart, you'll see that the OD version is slightly smaller, but not much.

                  38 is an "M"

                      Got mine in large 🙂 . Wanted a stronger work shirt than my waffle, waffle work shirt is great, just don't want to ruin it by doing actual work in it  😃

                            Mine came in today, immediately got put to work. Have a good art button on the chest heart pocket. Feels and looks great, perfect size that I was looking for!

                                      Any plans to ever bring this one back with the white stitching and black buttons?  I saw the post a few pages back about it, but just wanted to see if this is the same idea.

                                      I have the 53 and never bothered to fix the button holes.  I'd have it fixed, but I stupidly bought a small. I won't be able to wear it if I ever wash it.

                                          I had a really hard time trying to decide between this and the OD… the regular won out. 😃 the IHSH-178 will have to fill the gap for a while.
