After missing out on the last couple of runs I have finally got a new pair. Currently wearing my old pair as they're so damn comfy

Will be soaking this pair in the bath as I have post-soak-stress from the SBG CPO that I f*cked up in the wash on my usually trusty settings!

Something about the sulphur-dying makes them a different proposition to the indigo 21oz. Tightens the weave and stiffens the fabric somehow. They’ll shrink a little when they see water but they do soften up with wear.

Thanks for that. Am a newbie, so heavy denim seems REALLY heavy, and London’s hot at the moment, so I’m not rushing to begin breaking them in. Lol. Will soak, however.

The  21oz OD is a better option for «black» denim in warm weather, in that case the overdying seems to have the opposite effect. Your SBG will be grand when the autumn comes though.

In they go! Did them pretty mild to begin with, typically it's pissing down with rain in the UK today so they're going to take forever to dry

Left them in for half hour, I didn't record the temp but it was pretty mild. 30 - 40c probably?

Once they're dry I will post pre and post measurements

Having not had to break in a pair of jeans in a while, I forgot how bloody rigid they are to start with 

Pre and post dims. Soak conditions as follows:

• 30 - 45mins
• Inside out
• Mild bath water, approx 30 - 40c
• No agitation
• Drip dry

W: 31.8 -> 31.5
F: 10.5 -> 10.2
R: 15.7 -> 15.1
T: 11.7 -> 11.4
K: 7.5-> 7.4
H: 7.3 -> 7.2
IS: 32.0 -> 31.0

Inseam still long even with a cuff but I erred on the side of caution after learning my lesson the hard way with my first pair

Note - expect some of these to stretch back out again with some wear, I am yet to wear them

Not too roomy in my opinion. Just wear them and over a very shot period of time they’ll settle and conform to your body.

Thighs look great - which is the biggest obstacle on these. I say rock them and enjoy!

The top block will shrink more with a real
Wash.

May I ask for some advice about these? I've just bought a pair of 666s-21, which I'm breaking in and love - perfect oversized fit and exactly what I was looking for, but have also been on the hunt for a solid pair of black, fade to grey, heavyweight denim, which are a slightly slimmer fit, but not skinny, and am wondering if these could be it.

To my eye, reading the measurements, in comparison to the 666s the 555s are a bit longer in the top block, and slimmer in the knee to hem - is that right? Is there anything else I should be mindful of? I did wonder about a pair of 777s (which I have in 21OD) but because of my super short inseam (27-29"), they almost lose the taper and end up a bit bootcut on me, which I'm keen to avoid.

Should also say there's only one left in what I think would be my size so temptation is strong…

Any thoughts/advice/pics very welcome - and thank you!
