oh that looks just heavenly!

The Fly box is in Anchor point Alaska and the river there is running thru the town of Soldotna both approximately 75 miles outside of Homer Alaska.
-
Yessir. Pan cooked for dinner and smoked overnight for breakfast. Landed 3 (Limit) all around 10 pounds in about 4 hours. The water was enjoyably cold with a swift current.
-
Thanks. Hit the limit (3) in about 4.5 hours with a fly rod.

LI Sound Fluke. Short so I let him go. Caught some porgy too but didnt photograph

Thanks G. That’s a nice fish there. I can’t wait for you to get your kayak.
-
@Giles what's the action on that lure? I see no lip so it doesn't dive, it is a sinking erratic swimmer with an open mouth that leaves a trail of bubbles as you reel?
if you have a link to it i'd like to look into it.

A Patchinko - An absolute killer in our waters….
A bubbly walk-the-dog.....
-
I use a similar "walk the dog" lure called a Spook. It works best on calm water in the early morning and evening for bass, and in the middle of the day on choppy waters for Northern.
I'll add a Patchinko to my arsenal and see what i can catch

Nice fish! Is that a shimano stradic?
-
Thanks. I have an old stradic 1000 for Freshwater that is solid as a rock. Smooth and pretty bulletproof. I abuse it TBH. You’re gonna love that 4000.
Just picked this up for kayak trolling for striped bass. It’s a Avet SX G2

That’s awesome. I’m sure you have a “few”
I just installed this in the yak. I’m awful laissez faire about drilling holes in my boat.
