Extraction (Netflix original) was actually very good. It is difficult to make a 'saving a kidnapped kid from the baddies' film original now as it is such an overused premise, but this is. Great car chases, original set pieces, insane body count, and characters play against type. Set in India and Bangladesh, which again is unusual.
Chris Hemsworth was good as the lead, and pleasing to my wife's eye.

Agreed @Stuart.T . We watched it last night, although I didn't see the end as I fell asleep.
This is the next watch for me, the wife won't be interested, so it will be laptop and headphones.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11615290/Just watched the "Beastie Boys Story" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11615290/ with the wife and we loved it. Took us both back to "Licensed To Ill" and carried us along the Bestie Boys journey. A recommended viewing

He was horrible in 12 Strong [emoji23]
But, my son and I really like him in Thor Ragnarok. He’s actually got decent comedy chops

Watched JoJo Rabbit last night. A very good film. It's pretty tough to go wrong with a movie that makes fun of Nazi's for the entirety of the show but this one really nails it.

Agreed, me & Jules were swept along by this fast paced action flick. Cheers @Stuart.T for the recommendation

finally got round to watching White Boy Rick. Really liked it. Some good, understated performances. It is good to see a 'gangster' film that focuses on the relationships rather than the dark, negative side, or glorified violence. The soundtrack was great too, great old rare groove and hip hop, and Max Richter.

Monos… What an astounding piece of cinema. The use of audio and visual, the sense of not being able to second guess which direction the plot will go next, even though there is a clear narrative.
@den1mhead it's a challenging but rewarding film. Check out the trailer, or Mark Kermode review and maybe give it a go.

We got around to watching Takeshi Miike's Hari Kiri last night. Sublime story telling and film making. Recommended.
It's been a long time since I've watched one of his films or Japanese cinema generally. I've missed it.

Mother! Amazing film. Very overwhelming on the senses at times, and has so many layers. The cast are all fantastic, and the use of the house and various relationships as metaphors are brilliant.
@den1mhead can't recommend this one enough. It definitely gone into my top 10 films.

Cheers buddy for the recommendation and I can say that we have seen Mother twice and I reflect your words entirely

True Story of the Kelly Gang. I've waited an age for this to see release, and it was worth the wait.
Quite a visionary director who used artistic license to some degree, but there are some great performances, cinematography is great, and it is very true to historical events.
When I was a kid I visited family in Australia, and saw a Ned Kelly exhibition that had his armour. I've been fascinated ever since. It's not surprising that the outlaw Mindset persists in parts of Australia to this day.
@den1mhead this might be one for you and Jules. Give the trailer a go…
